Not bad for the price
The hurricane definitely played havoc with this course. I would say it’s definitely on its way back. It’s a nice layout and I think the longer it goes from this post, it will get better and better
Can't go wrong with H. Oaks
I played this course last year and promised I would be back. I really enjoy this course. The layout is fun. Not an overpowering course which I like since I don't hit the ball long, and my pops is 70. A number of greens are properly guarded with bunkers. The fairways were in nice shape, and only a couple greens had some sanding. The rest were in good shape and rolled quick.
The price is right, the course is fun.
If you haven't played here yet, go enjoy a round. You'll add it to your list of solid courses for a reasonable price.
Beware of 5 hr plus rounds !!!
Booked a teetime last Sunday at 8:30 and let me tell you this will be my last time ever playing this course on a weekend . have played this course maybe a handful of times now on the weekend and it has always been a five hour round . (Which is ridiculous) But this weekend was extra special after finishing nine holes in two hours and 50 minutes. I asked the starter in the ranger what was going on because we were trending a six hour round and was pretty much laughed and told that five hours is a normal pace of play at this course..
Reasonably Well
Fairways have good grass. Greens can be improved however where they placed pins the putts were rolling fast. Bunkers- no one properly takes . Watch out when driving on & off paths. The new carts maybe blessing in disguise when riding on the rough terrain.
Great course
Everything on that course is great. Beautiful greens and a great layout.
Forget about hole 7 that was under water during the storm. Still the best course. Definitely a must go again.
Good Value
Played the course for the second week in a row.
Price was too good to pass up.
7th green was distressed but all the other greens were fine.
Traps left a lot to be desired but it has been that way for years.
Still enjoyable course to play.
Not the best its been
Played yesterday in good weather conditions. Course layout is a main reason why I come back. Good track. Usually in good shape but not this time. Many greens were still recovering from the hurricane and the fairways were bare in spots. Will wait a few months before coming back.
It’s not what it used to be
This course has a really rough summer and hasn’t recovered yet. The fairways are extremely dry and firm. The greens have a lot of bare patches. The layout is fun, however it’s not enough for the price.
There is work happening, but not worth the price at the moment.
Beaches Everywhere
I understand aeration and sanding, but most of the 18 greens were so heavily sanded that you could leave shoe prints on the greens! Terrible putting.
Course is in rough shape
Most of the greens on this course have dead patches or sandy patches. One green (it was a par 3) was completely unusable due to the dead patches. Half of the tee boxes had no grass and were like hitting bunker shots to tee off, we hit off the whites. The bunkers were as hard as clay from being so water logged, you couldn’t even rake them after hitting they were so solid. I won’t be returning to this course for awhile and hope to see the greens fees go into restoring this course back to its potential, the layout is great.
Fun Course
Great Layout
Greens were good except the 7th hole.
Otherwise in better shape than last time we played.
Looks like they are actually working on some bunkers to improve condition.
Conditions
Course in better shape than last time I played. Greens are in good shape , tee boxes are in need of work not much grass. Lost balls just off of fairways due type of grass. Not only ones because we found lots too
All in all would recommend at $40 range not $50s
Enjoyed immensely
This course has recovered well from the hurricanes and with a couple of wet spots, dead grass on #7 Green and some bunkers being rocks, it's in wonderful shape and a ton of fun. We enjoyed it very much, with the front nine having lots of homes and a stunning back nine with tons of natural beauty. It's time this semi-private course builds a club house though.
After hurricane round.
Course was in very good condition and the majority of the greens were perfect. Kudos to the staff.
Slow
Tee times are scheduled too close together. By the time we got to the 14th hole there were five groups backed up on the same hole. We ended up leaving. As we were leaving we noticed two to three groups on every hole to the end
