Hernando Oaks Golf & Country Club

Booked a teetime last Sunday at 8:30 and let me tell you this will be my last time ever playing this course on a weekend . have played this course maybe a handful of times now on the weekend and it has always been a five hour round . (Which is ridiculous) But this weekend was extra special after finishing nine holes in two hours and 50 minutes. I asked the starter in the ranger what was going on because we were trending a six hour round and was pretty much laughed and told that five hours is a normal pace of play at this course..

Really like this course. Actually, an odd thing to comment on, but the rough is excellent. Greens roll fairly true. One of my favorite features of any golf course is undulations in the fairway…adds to the challenge. Play this course frequently. Not a member. Staff could not be friendlier, very welcoming.

If you want some challenge in you game, then this is the course. Perfect layout. Nice shape, except for some of the tee boxes. They were in pretty bad shape.

Always enjoy playing this course.

Fairways and greens getting better.

Traps are awful; some nearly unplayable.

They have been a problem since I first played the course 20 years ago.

Will always be a detriment to course enjoyment.

Too bad; it is a great layout.

I've played this course many times in the past and it has been in somewhat decent shape. This last time though the course was in terrible shape. It definately looks as though routine maintenance is being neglected. The fairways were not mowed and you could easily lose your ball in the fairway. The rough was ankle deep grass. Some of the greens were like putting off of gravel. The quarry holes were great though - thats about it. Until management starts to maintain the course a little better I would not recommend this course to anyone. At least mow the fairways and the experience could have been much better. Sad to say. The layout is good though.

Fairways are in great shape greens are almost recovered from being aerated. But the rough just off the fairways are just to high. and to much grass clipping not cleaned up.

Got an early tee time which was nice - For the price the course is great - the greens were aerated so the putting was not good - In a few weeks it will be nice

They just punched the greens a week ago. So needs about few weeks to recover. Tee boxes were sometimes really rough. Everything was was solid.

Some tea boxes and greens in some rough shape, but overall great track.

Course condition has greatly improved since the last time we played here.

Greens ran smooth and only a couple of the greens had distressed areas.

Fairways were pretty good.

Traps are always bad and need total redo.

Still a great and fun layout.

The course had just aerated the greens and neither Golfpass nor Hernando Oaks notified us before the start of the round.
