The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. Great pace of play

Enjoyed the round. Overall the course condition was pretty good. Fairways actually had grass and greens were in good condition. Great value for the money. Finished the round in 3 hours!

Surpising Look

I know that Florida has been in a drought for the past few months. But the course was not in good shape. The greens had not been cut or rolled and was slowly than they used to be. The rough had a lot of weeds growing within the rough. The sand traps, were hit or miss. Some had grass growing in them. On hole #7 the fairway was as bad as the rough, where you couldn't tell the difference between the two. I do remember this course being in better shape but I'm not sure what happened. The staff is friendly and was very helpful. I will be waiting to see, the next review or two, to see if the course has gotten better before I head back out there!

Decent Course

I always enjoy play Silverthorn. Conditions were ok. Tee boxes and fairways are struggling because of lack of rain. Greens were decent but slow. Overall a good value.

It is vastly improved.
