About
The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. Much Improved
I played this course last summer. I said I would not return till it was improved. Well, I returned and it has improved dramatically. Still not perfect, but 100% better. There are still some sparse tee boxes and fairways, but the greens were all in great shape. If you have never played this course try it, I think you will find it fun and challenging.
Great course
I have golfed here 4-5 times/year for last 10 years. The conditions have improved tremendously compared to previous 5 years. Greens were great and course was in very nice condition compared to previous years. We love the layout.
A great round coming up
The course is in great winter condition. Good local course to have a fun round.
GREENS are beautiful
Best I've seen this course in a long time the greens are fast and beautiful all they have to do is take care of the bunkers and they will have one of the best golf courses around.
Great Conditions
Course is in phenomenal shape . Greens are rolling ! Fairways are nice and green . They could use a cart girl or atleast open the bar needed a drink and hotdog at turn but they weren’t open
Great Layout. Greens excellent. Pace slow, Fairways in rough shape
Overall ok. I would recommend playing here but temper your expectations.
My "home course" in Florida!
This course is a beautiful and challenging layout. Play here with my wife. Very front tees are perfect for her. I've been trying to break 90 from the tips at age 67, but I'm moving up one tee. Love this course!
Course layout nice, greens nice, fairways bad
Pave if play slow due to group of 5 old timers playing 2 groups ahead. Not sure why this is allowed
Pace of play poor
We had an 11:20 Ttime. We were able to tee off on time. We played 7 holes at a good pace. At hole 8 the pace of play slowed to a crawl. Group in front of us had 6 ladies. We played through hole 13 Duration for 13 holes 3 hours 20 minutes. We try to skip a hole to get around the ladies. Every hole was backed up through hole 18. We brought the car back called it a day. Went in and asked for 9 hole rain check and was told to call Golf Now
