The course was awesome
We drove 5 hrs from KC to play and it was worth every second. Our only complaint is that they had an event so we couldn't play more. We will be back for sure
A very weird experience
First off, this is a very nice layout. No argument there.
But you would think that a facility such as this would have their stuff together a little better. Somehow they let a twosome out on the course that had probably never been on a golf course before in their life. The course advisors were driving around on the front side looking for them…don’t know if they ever found them. But we caught them on the 8th hole. They let us play through. Then on the 9th, they were in front of us again. On the 10th, they jumped in front of the group in front of us but let them play through as their cart was 100 yards from where they hit their balls in the woods. Then they let us play through again, but jumped us again while putting. They were hopping all over the course like a rabbit. The end result was just short of a 6 hour round. For as much money as we paid, I expect better from the course personnel. I am sure there were many behind us that didn’t finish their round due to darkness (we barely did and tee’d off at 2p).
Such a fun PGA Tour stop
TPC Deere run is an amazingly fun course to play! We wanted to experience what the course conditions were like right after the John Deere Classic and that added to the excitement of the day. The grandstands were being taken down but most were still up and that was cool to see.
The course itself is beautiful and even just a few days after the PGA stop, the conditions were excellent. The rough was insanely deep and gnarly which made it nearly impossible to play out of and instead you had to hack the ball back onto the fairway.
The tee box at No. 2 provided a stunning vista of the Rock River. The signature hole at No. 16 is truly a sight to see from the tee box as well as the green.
The greens had plenty of newly repaired ball marks but rolled true. They were very fast downhill while the breaks were very subtle and hard to gauge. The fairways had as tight of lies that I could ever recall playing. A lot of false fronts on greens so many times, especially on uphill approaches, I took one more club to make sure I cleared the fronts. In addition, the cart might have had the most comfortable seat I’ve ever had.
I’d strongly recommend playing TPC Deere Run. Not only is it a regular PGA Tour stop, the sights are awesome to behold, like on 2, 15 and 16. We got a twilight rate of just over $100 but that was a bargain! For quality of course versus cost, it is hard to think of many courses that can surpass TPC Deere Run.
Great First Time at TPC Deere Run
This is a must play course with a great layout. The wind was blowing making it very challenging, but this course will challenge you but was very fair. They had aerated the greens during the week and the rain received made it cart path only otherwise the conditions were great! The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. I hope to play here again someday.
Deere Runnin
Though it is late in season, course was amazing shape. A negative was no starter to advise on course “lookouts” unfortunately. Found it odd due to being a higher end property.
Biggest downside was having multiple singles not being paired up or pairing up. This was a noon tee time on a Sunday. Did not make the pace of play enjoyable as every hole felt rushed. We let through 4 singles since we were a 4 sum, but we should not have to be doing so if the staff payed more attention during check-ins.
Nicer courses and staff need to do a better job paring up players on high traffic tee times or letting off single players after 330 so 3 & 4 sum groups don’t have extended playing times or have the rush feel with someone on their butts non stop while golfing
A dream come true
Worth every penny
The nicest people along the nicest course!
Thank you for having me.
Outstanding Course
I primarily play public courses in the Chicago area, and TPC Deere Run is worth a day trip from that area for an outstanding round of golf.
Course conditions in early September 2023 were near-perfect. The rough is what I'd call "tournament length" so be ready to get punished if you spray your shots off the short grass. Combining that with the usual places to lose balls (woods, water hazards, tall grasses) I do recommend that players bring an extra set of golf balls.
The clubhouse is fantastic, and don't pass up the opportunity to shop for some swag at the pro shop. Locker rooms are much better than average public courses. TPC staff was polite and attentive, including starters, course marshall, front desk and cart staff, as well as the restaurant servers. Food was a bit slow coming out of the kitchen, so if you're in a rush they have an expedited menu of hot dogs, etc. There's a halfway house at the turn if you prefer to grab and go.
I recommend you arrive early before your tee time to partake in the practice area, which features an outstanding driving range, two putting greens, sand traps, etc.
The course doesn't have yard markers, but does offer front/middle/back numbers from some sprinkler heads. If you're a tech user (watch or rangefinder) it's not an issue. If you are a purist, I highly recommend you buy their yardage book.
A course that's worth the trip.
Amazing Experience
We take a yearly golf trip and TPC Deere Run did not disappoint. From the moment we got to the course we were greeted with great service and conversion, amazing facilities , a knowledgeable starter and a course Marshall who kept the pace of play. We ate at the course restaurant after the round and were met with the same high quality experience.
The course it was everything we hoped it would be…Great layout, perfect fairways and greens, great sand in bunkers. The course difficulty was fine yet fair. Although none of a shot lights out, we will definitely be back for another round in the near future.
Thanks again to a great experience to the entire staff. This is a must play course if you’re ever in the Quad Cities Area!
TPC Deere Run
There were no people or carts to be found, we had to walk the property to find and employee to let them know. The course was beautiful but the lack of no service was very disappointing. The round took over 5 hours as the pace of play was terrible, we did no see any Marshall on the course to let the foursome in front of us to pick up the pace. This was supposed to be a special outing as our foursome was all my brothers flying in to play the TPC and due to the lack of service it was an disappointing round.
Great Golf Destination!
From the time we arrived until the taillights left the gate, the staff was courteous and helpful. I gave four stars on course condition only because it was in "post tournament recovery." Great layout that's dutifully challenging but rewards good play. I would say for even good golfers, a few sleeves of balls is a good idea...the rough eats em like candy! You will not be disappointed at TPC Deere Run!
Awesome course
An excellent course and see why it is a championship course. Amazing staff and difficult challenging course and greens. Beautiful scenery and very well maintained and even areas closed to help before the tournament were given ways to still hit your ball. So glad I was able to play it.
Birthday round
Great conditions, challenging but fair. Tee boxes offer a fair play for every skill level. Greens were in great shape and rolled true. Wish I lived near by I would love to be a member.
Beautiful, Challenging Course that requires much walking
TPC Deere Run is a beautiful and challenging course with its rolling hills, strategic bunkers and multiple water hazards. The course was fun to play but the day we played the entire course was cart path only. This is not a course that you want to walk. With its undulating rolling fairways, walking to your shot was very tiring and exhausting. The carts could use a GPS system too.
