Bear's Best Atlanta

A great layout and today we had no wait at all. Course isnin good "winter shape". Greens were very fast.

Always enjoy playing bear's best it is in great shape and greens are perfect! Staff is always friendly and accomodating.

Staff was very nice and helpful. Starter asked if I wanted to play with a couple of guys who were members, glad I did. Tom and Tom were a big help, they just did not keep me out of the bunkers though. Had fun, Bears Best is my favorite GA course now, can't wait to play again!

Bear's Best is a collection of holes from Jack Nicklaus hundreds of courses around the world. So for me, I only recognized a handful of the holes, but honestly, all of them were pretty good in a Georgia hilly setting. I particularly liked the combination of par 3s from Muirfield Village and PGA National, which make for a great setting. The Scottish and Irish holes are a little more difficult to decipher, but I'm sure they are accurate nonetheless. As a collection of holes, Bear's Best (there's on in Las Vegas, too), makes for an outstanding golf course.

Bear's Best Suwanee is a nice course. Conditions for this round were good across the board. The greens were in great shape considering the drought that we have been in. Started right on time and pace of play was good. Will definetely return.

Arrived at the course - driving range was closed. We had phoned the course earlier and no mention was made of that. Had played here years ago when the course was relatively new and the course has 'grown in' quite a bit. The course layout was not as nice as I had imagined it although there are a few pretty holes. Coupled with a 5 hr round on a week day with the 2 groups in front hacking away it was tough going. Bunkers not raked, plenty of divots on the greens made it seem as if the course is not well maintained by the players, Disappointing for a big name course. Glad we tried it after such a long time but won't be back anytime soon - there are other much better options available.

I do not typically play Bear's Best Atlanta more than once a year, but a member friend invited me to play. The course is not in the condition expected of a $100 green fee in this area. This bent grass course seems worn down by excessive play and some corner cutting in the grooming. Even the bunkers are a bit tired. Despite the lumps this is still a nice track, but simply over priced for the conditioning. For first timers, the course is very playable including balls finding the primary rough. As is typical for Bear's Best Atlanta, the pace of play was too slow. I have played on the best and the worst courses in metro Atlanta. Some of my feedback is absolute, but much is relative to price. There are courses in better condition with $50 to $60 green fees.

We got to number 8 and noticed 3 groups on our hole and 3 groups on 9. A three ball group was in front with two holes open. I called the clubhouse and asked for a Mashall. The Marshall came out but nothing changed. Me group finally left on hole 14 due to slow play. I entered the clubhouse and asked for a rain check the pro gave me a 9 hole credit. This could of all been avoided if pace of play was taken seriously and enforced at this course.

Bear's Best Suwanee is a nice course with good practice facilities. This is not a penal course, but does have its share of hazards to punish severely errant shots. Conditions for this round were good across the board. If the greens had been more consistent, the adjective would have been excellent. I have played the course a few times over several years. In most of these rounds, including this round, the pace of play was an issue and results in 3 stars instead of 4 stars. The pace of play issues start on the first tee and do not improve. The staff makes a half hearted to keep people on schedule at the first tee and no significant effort to keep the laggards moving. Multiple golfers, in groups near us, quit during this round due to the slow pace of play. I can only recommend playing this course at a significantly discounted rate.

Over the past 4 or 5 years Ive played Bears Best at least 2 dozen times, both in the winter in the heat of summer and I can tell you right now, this is the BEST condition this course has ever been, at least since I have been playing here. The fairways are beautifully manicured and tight lies are everywhere, the greens are rolling as fast and as true as a course at this quality and caliber should be, and the facilities are just as nice. If I have heard correctly, there is a new superintendent as of 2016 and he's clearly shaking things up and bringing this quality course up to par, pardon the pun. If you find a deal to play here, its worth your time!

Everything is in great condition a must play

The course may be made up of 18 different Nicholas designed holes from all over the world but it lacks beauty. It's not very challenging, pace of play is horrible with apologetic marshals who did nothing to improve the pace. The two gentlemen that they matched us up with left after nine in disgust. Save your money. Play elsewhere. Also, all you big hitters who can't keep it in the fairway, play it forward!

Fast firm greens for Georgia this time of year. Bear's best bent grass greens are in fantastic shape. Roll fast and true must play

I played this course on my birthday due to he steep price! The course was in excellent shape and the staff was very friendly. However after you pay the steep greens fee, the price of range balls is insane as well as the food and drinks. $5 for a beer and $3 for a bottle of water is crazy. I love the course but I probably won't be back until my next birthday!

Played the course 7/8 in 104 deg heat index, probably should have had my head examined. Nevertheless, a majority of the water drinking containers were empty. Never once saw a cart "lady", guess she said "It's to hot out there to ride around in a cart". Greens were in great condition and fairways where ok. Would like to see them put some TLC into the course for $50 round in the heat of the day.

I have never played at a place this nice !!! Everyone there from the pro to the ranger to the cart girl was so nice and helpful!!! The course is beautiful !!! The houses you see are breathtaking!!! If you ever have the chance to play here it's a must!!!!!!

Very impressive facility starting with the pro shop and driving range. Everything ran like clockwork and we started right on time. Pace of play was excellent. Fairways and greens were in superb condition. An additional benefit is that each hole is based on a famous hole that Mr. Nicklaus designed from courses around the world. Pretty challenging for our group but extremely fun and probably suited to almost any level of player.

What a treat, to play these famous golf holes from all over the world. A really beautiful course. Very memorable playing there.

One of the top 3 courses in Atlanta that's not private!

It's a must play. This is coming from a mid 75s golfer. You have to ha e ever shot in the bag to score well here.
