Bear's Best Atlanta

This is a good golf course with a variety of challenging holes, but it's not in the elite group of Atlanta courses and certainly not worthy of a $100ish green fee. We got a special on golfnow - otherwise we would have played elsewhere. Tee boxes are weak - some being rebuilt and a couple others are uneven. Range is shot....they need to manage the turf allocation better. Or relate people to mays during poor weather conditions. The range turf was similar to windy ridge. Greens get an A although they were slower than I would have expected. Otherwise almost completely healed from aeration and very true. 5/6 bunkers were in great shape, one was beachy. Slope from blues is misleading as the course plays short...not deserving of 137. Clubhouse is weak 80's architecture and oriented for large groups and banquets. Pro shop is stocked and the starter and cart girls were polite and present.....although was a little disappointed that a 4:30 Sunday start led to a 4h20m round. Shouldn't have been waiting on shot after shot. A top dollar course should ensure a 4 hour round - any decent private club would tolerate nothing less.

It's an awesome course for the price of $32.. I wouldn't pay more $65. But it's a great deal for the twilight hours

Looked forward to playing here for the first time. Lived up to its reputation. Three of us were paired up with a member, helped having him with shot locations

Great course! Weather great and staff. I HATE PAYING FOR GOLFNOW FEES as I book 90 rounds a year. #giveusfeefreegolf

Not a bad overall course. A fairly decent semi-private condition place. Unless your a Nickalaus fan, don't waste your money. Nothing really bad about the place, just not worth the price. Pace of play is 5 1/2 hours on average because they stay so booked up...most likely because of the name brand.

The course layout is the best around, and the conditions are great. However, it wouldn't hurt on pairing people up a little better to fix the pace. I will definitely go back.

Took 5 hours to play for three players. Had to wait 5-10 minutes every shot. Ridiculous for the price u r paying. Ranger didn't do anything for the slow play in front group. DO NOT RECOMMEMD~~. MOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!

Course was beautiful. Wonderful layout. green were firm though. The pace of play was awful! No marshalls were out on the course trying to speed up play. We were a two-some and the group in front of us never let us play through. We had to wait 5-10min every shot. No fun!
Course is great though.

I took a client for a Friday round. The whole way out I hyped the course as one of the best you can play in Greater ATL.

1) The shape of the course was a surprise. Knowing full well that we are coming out of winter, I realize parts would be dormy. But the fairways and greenside were muni style. No overseed?

2) The pace was horrendous, and they did nothing to compensate. Only saying via a ranger, 'sorry guys, but it is only going to get worse'.

3) Due to the terrible slow down at 7 and 8....we missed the halfway house hours. ???? Closed at 5?

Overall, I think a price break should have been offered. Or ever a few free beers.

Course was wet but very playable despite cart paths only.

Best I have played at of all the courses in Georgia. Grass on fairways were green even though the roughs were dried, it played very well. The greens were in great condition. I would definitely try to get the same deal again to golf there. Hopefully when it is a little warmer.

Bears best is always fun to play. The course was in good winter condition. Cart path only which, oddly, I appreciate because they are taking care of the course. Greens were true if not a bit slow. The round was memorable for my first hole in one on 16!

It was a beautiful day. The course was in excellent condition. They take great care at maintaining the facility.

Excellent course where each hole is one of Jack's best from around the world. Holes were challenging but most fairways were easy enough to hit. This course is all about the approach as the greens are extremely difficult.

Had a very pleasant round despite the cool weather. Course was in great shape! We were particularly pleased with the recent bunker improvements.

Tee box is not worth. Every tee shot you have to find a new place and angle of your body. you have watch both your legs in teebox. otherwise you may be uphill or downhill tee box

Picked up hot deal. Definitely return if i see another one. Level tee boxes, manicured fairways, true greens.

Very interesting course with the design of each hole being different. We are a seniors group that play many different courses. We all,six on this day, scored above our average, but chalk it up to wet winter conditions and tight lies. We look forward to playing it again in the summer.

Always enjoy playing here. Love the layout and course conditions and it's really nice to have green fairways in the winter. Only issue that needs attention was the very poor condition of the range and par 3 tee boxes...too many divots.

Great place to play. Don't be in a hurry I've played here a few times and it has always been over 4 hour rounds. But the course is in great shape well worth what we booked it for on golfnow. Great food in the restaurant.
