sad shell of a once great course
They have really let this course go, Bare spots, dead grass, tee boxes with literally zero grass on them (blue tees). why even put the tee markers there?
Sad as this course started as an extremely challenging, beautifully maintained course and as it has changed ownership/management groups has gone backwards.
Speaking with staff they say management is more worried about the weddings/receptions than the golf.
shockingly slow
four groups on most holes all day long. didn't even have time to finish the round. completely unacceptable for mid-week golf.
TOO SLOW
The pace of play for mid-week was atrocious. We often had the situation where there were 4 groups on the same hole - one group on the green, one in the fairway and two on the tee box. Didn't play the last hole as we ran out of time.
Great layout, awful conditions
Second time playing this course. Has a lot of potential with its layout but unfortunately conditions are a bit neglected. Middle of fairways are dirt and mostly dead grass and greens are super patchy. Definitely not worth it for the $85+ you pay to get out there. Hope they’ll improve cuz the course is in a beautiful area and has an awesome design with fun challenging holes.
Disappointing
Greens were nice but fairways not maintained as they once were? lots more weeds and dirt patches , divots not filled
and ball marks not attended to on greens
Its a nice layout though
Very bad coarse condition
Very disappointed in coarse maintenance. For the amount of money it was way worse than a municipality. Probably last time I ever play unless it is a free round someone pays for. If I could give a negative star I would. Very very bad coarse condition and will not refer coarse to anyone.
Great Course in Crap Condition
This course could be the jewel of South Santa Clara County if it was in half-decent condition; it's challenging, has an interesting layout, and is in a beautiful setting. But it's in horrible shape, and usually quite expensive. I got a big discount using a hot deal and still felt like I overpaid. The fairways look like a war zone with bare spots, muddy areas, and weeds - they are some of the worst I have ever seen. One positive was I played with one their teaching pros, Julia, who was very nice and gave me a few tips.
Too hot
Was wondering why parking lot was not full
We seniors dont fo well in 104 degrees
We quit after 9
Course in great shape
Poor Conditions
Although this course has a great layout and fun to play, I was disappointed with the poor condition of the course for the money paid. Bare spots and clover on the greens, tees are full of weeds and fairways have bare spots, i.e. #9, but are roped off with no effort being made to grow grass. Why not let us ride on it if you're not going to bring it back.
Poor Cart Control
Club House said I need to share the cart with someone else, nad gave me his name but no cart number or other info. I needed to ask every gentleman on the range if he's my co-rider. If course wants to force the cart sharing, the cart rider info & number should be written & controlled. Otherwise, they needed to call him to pick me up in the club house.
Nice course for gilroy
There are good views with trees/mountains on one side and above the city on the other. Many lay-up holes are challenging if you're not great with irons. Amenities are not great if you get there in the morning only thing available is the grab-and-go for a simple breakfast burrito, sandwiches, beer cans, shooters, and candy. In the afternoon their clubhouse restaurant was closed due to something about the kitchen. A lot of elevated shots on the back 9 which is nice also hole 11 can be hard to find if you never played before. I noticed all the tee boxes in santa clara county courses are not as great compared to Monterey county courses. Fairway isn't the best shape either but it plays fine.
