Gilroy Golf Course
About
It might not have a lot of competition, but Gilroy Golf Course dubs itself as the "Best 11-Hole Golf Course in America." Built by local farmers and businessmen in 1923, this unique 11-hole routing east of Santa Cruz features small greens and wide, tree-lined fairways set along the Uvas Valley that has changed very little since its founding. Though not a full 18, the golf course is still plenty challenging, including the 245-yard par-3 8th hole, a scenic tee shot considered to be the course's signature. Gilroy Golf Course has suitable BBQ and outing facilities for larger groups.

Decent course for a good price
Course is kept tidy consistently.
Certain holes with have dry greens, even sand, but have been putting in more work in the maintenance as of late.
I live just around the corner from the course so it’s my weekly course, but if it was out my way, I wouldn’t come here to often as there are other considerable courses at the price point.
Bought 18, played 9 and left....
Course condition is terrible. It is a $10-15 course max. I would not play this course again even if it was free.
Water!
Having played this course for years I could not have been more disappointed. First tee box littered with squirrel holes/mounds, fairways looked more like cow pastures, greens had dead grass or dirt patches. Trying to find positives was near impossible. No marshall to control pace of play. Had I not booked and paid on Golf Now I would have walked off after 3 rd hole and demanded a refund.
Gavilan golf course is a much better value and 6 minutes away.
Pretty rough play ---
Overall value of the money was great, HOWEVER...
Be prepared for horribly dry and hard fairways, huge areas of rock-hard dirt patches and areas in the middle of the fairways I would not use even my irons as the hardpack dirt was rock ridden. Hole 17 (par 5 headed up the hill) has the best conditions of the course on the entire course.
Overall play pace is decent, but for sure wishing for the rains to bring some moisture back to the course...
11 holes!
Gilroy GC is a fun day on the links! Very few people can say they have played an 11-hole course.... but that is just what you get here.
Basically, it is a 9-hole course mind set, but you get a surprise when you get to the 8th hole. Tee box is the same for 8 and 17, but one goes left and one goes right (totally different holes). Then 9 starts on one side of the hill and 18 the other. Again, different holes.... but a shared green.
If you like quirky and laid back, give Gilroy GC a try!
Fun Course
This is a fun little course. If you are looking to have a casual day out on the course with friends and family, you may want to consider playing here. Staff is friendly, course is in good shape and the surroundings are peaceful.
Course is challenging. Greens are fast and lots of ups and downs.
Wanna just play golf?
This place isn’t anything fancy, but it’s a good place to play the game. There’s always room for you and pals. Weather is great. People are friendly. I really enjoy a fun relaxing round. This is where you get that. Enjoy.
Don't play
Their is nothing about this course that is positive. There are really no defined tee boxes. The fairways are horrible. The greens are okay at best. The ground is hard as a rock, There are 11 holes (7 shared, 2 non shared). Makes for very slow play. They allow fivesomes which slows it down to a crawl. I quit after 9 holes (2 par 3s I skipped because they were backed up). I called Golfnow and got a partial refund.
Course in good condition. Pace was great, usually over booked and slow play but played early to have a great round. Little foggy in the morning but drives were straight down the fairway for me and my playing partner so easy to find out balls. Great morning for golf
