Shot Maker's Delight
It's a scenic design that uses the surrounding hills and valleys to create a challenge that places premium on accuracy and smart play. Greens are good sized, allowing wide variety of pin placements. They roll well and hold up under heavy play. Pace of play is the only negative issue. Played twice, and both times exceeded 5 hours for 18. Must be patient and allow for extra time with poor to fair players trudging around in search of errant shots.
GolfNow makes it play even better
A fun and workable course that is introduced by Great Staff that are helpful and friendly. GolfNow made the price right with its special offer. Pairing up with 3 other gentlemen, it became fun to see how I could improve each shot to contend with the others. The day turned from foggy cold to magnificently warm and sunny. At the end of the round it had become dusk and the maintence crew were still there grooming the fairways. The course has a "Cartgirl" for refreshments and snack and she came around 3 times in the round and was very delightful to converse with.
I'll come back to this course because it is a reasonable distance from home has friendly personnel and is kept in pretty good shape.
I'll tell my friends about this course and invite them to challenge me. . . .
Thank for for such a raving review! We can't wait to see you back with your friends.
Nice layout!
I enjoyed everything about the course from the fairways to the greens. If you are a short hitter beware, long par 3s and par 5s, but the course is fair. The only disappointing aspect to the course is that you don't go back by the clubhouse at the turn and the beverage cart had no sandwiches and very limited selection of snacks. An overall good experience!
Thank you for the review! We are sorry that you could not get a sandwich from the beverage cart, please email me directly for a promo code. julieteetimes@aol.com
Hello Roddy
Course was in surprisingly in good shape considering the lack of rain we've been getting. Looking forward to playing out here more often.
Thank you for the review! We are always actively working on maintaining the conditions. We hope to see you back soon!
This course is scnenic
beautiful course , but smells like cat urine all over. The marshals are constantly looking in your cart and overseeing your every move. I like to see marshals but this was to much. Snack bar doesn't open til 8am . No chance of getting anything after 9,cart girl came around once even after leaving a tip.
We are so sorry about your experience at the course. We would love if you gave us another chance, please email me directly at julieteetimes@aol.com
slow play
thet need to speed up play 5 .5 hrs. is to long for a round of golf
We are sorry about the pace of play! Please email me directly for a promo code. julieteetimes@aol.com
Great course
A must play if like a challenge. You will need to play a number of different types of shots. Wind can play a big part in your round
Thank you for the great review! We hope to see you back very soon.
A Great Course top pl;ay
This course was in good shape but a bit off the beaten path. There are lots of elevation changes and play can be slow at times but overal;l it is a l;ot of fun to play here so give it a trry.
Thank you for the review!
Too Cold, Too Windy

Beautiful Round
The course has had a chance to drain and was in very good condition. The weather was outstanding. The wind can make play very challenging on this course but today was calm and cool. Surprised the course was in such good condition. The first cut however was at least 2-3 inches and made it difficult to find your ball if you missed the fairway. Overall and excellent day at Roddy.Ranch.
We are so happy you enjoyed your round at our course! We hope we see you back soon.
Great course when not saturated with rain!
Great course but the rain really worked a number on it. Very saturated however its still a fun time out when the course is empty. Had a great opportunity to take my time and work on my game, minus the bunker play. bunkers were like mini lakes. lol
Thank you for the review. We are so happy you got to improve your game!
Nice course
The course was nice it was cart part only which I hate it was more trouble just walking to the ball it is a very hilly course I had a good time I played with 2 guys that played often with all the rain it was not too bad but muddy in areas... The greens were slow but readable I would love to play the course when it is in better condition to really test me I had fun. The area was really nice tucked away in the hills over looking the city. I was impressed.
You have to be long on some holes and place the ball on others it was a good skill tester so bring your A game when things dry up
Thanks for the review and glad you enjoyed your round!!
Even when soaked the course wass better than most.
3 of us went out after it had been dumping rain for three straight days. The course was carts on path and bunker were GUR as everywhere is after heavy rain. After such a beating the course was in better condition than most courses are without heavy raining. The greens were very well kept and the layout of hte course was simple yet challenging. IF you are in this area please visit this course. you will not regret it.
We are so glad you enjoyed your round at Roddy Ranch! We are sorry about the pesky rain, mother nature has a mind of her own.
Roddy Ranch Is Quite a Golfing Experience
I hate Roddy Ranch, so why do I keep going back? I'm a glutton for punishment, or love the challenge, I guess. The pros: very different course, with way too many bunkers!, shots on a slope most of the time, very different hilly views (even saw my first tarantula in years), and fast, well-tended greens. A very interesting course, not for the fainthearted. Cons? This only applies to now, in wet weather or because the course is coming back from the horrible drought, and that's the "carts on cart path only" rule. There's so much up and down from the cart that without anyone in front of you a foursome takes five hours to play the course. Also, the drought damaged areas of grass, that now are very clumpy and difficult to hit from. In better years, that might not be the case. I'm not going back until next spring, and only if I call and find out the "cart path only" isn't in effect. But I will be back!
It's great to hear you enjoyed your round at Roddy Ranch! We are sorry about being cart path only, we are trying to get the grass back in shape. See you back soon!
Nice Course would love to play it all
The Bad:
I went with two friends and the course was wet from the rain the day before so cart path only. (UGH! and imo not necessary) Thankful for the rain, but the round was just way toooo slow. 4 hours to get in 13 holes. We had to call it a day a that point since it was only getting slower. Saw groups of five in front of us which makes no sense on a slow day with cart path only to even let groups of five go. Hit a shot wait 10 minutes.
The Good:
Course was fun and challenging. Looks like they are working to get it green again. Greens are some of the most challenging I have putted on, but they roll true and fast. `The rolling hills, elevation changes, and distinction of colors make it a course that look really pretty. I really wished we could have played the whole round.
Bottom Line: I will try one more time when it is not cart path only and if it is that slow again I will not be back. If the pace is reasonable, it is a great deal for a good course.
Glad you enjoy the layout of the course but our apologies for the pace of play you experienced. Please contact me directly for a make up promo code at julieteetimes@aol.com
Tough outing
I always tour RR as a must play for Bay Area golf enthusiasts. The summer drought was hard on the course, but the course is still in fair shape otherwise.
My criticisms are of hard-packed sand traps and extra-long grasses some times right off the fairways or around the greens.
The greens are in great shape and consistent, but due to some tough pin placements the pace of play was 5 1/2 hours on a Friday mid-day outing. Very unfortunate as we were waiting on most tees to hit our next shots.
Thank you for the kind words. We are sorry about the pace of play at the course. Please email me directly for a promo code. julieteetimes@aol.com
One of my favorites in the area.
Love the layout of the course. Not long but always offering a challenge.
We are so glad you love the layout of our course! Hope to see you soon.
Still nice
It was a day after it rained. the ground was not soggy at all.
The fairways are good. greens are not cut so it rolled slower.
It is a challenging course. It was enjoyable as usual.
We are glad you enjoyed your round at Roddy Ranch. Our greens should be in better shape now. Come back soon!
Ruddy ranch
Pig traps on the the 6th fairway , really ! No sand in any of the bunkers , just mud, fairways that are almost dead ! This course needs a lot of Tlc , before
I play it again..
