About
Shadow Lakes Golf Club sprawls across rolling hills with Mount Diablo looming in the background. Dramatic elevation changes characterize the course, providing both challenges and scenic views of the East Bay Area. The undulations of the terrain range from subtle to dramatic and helped to determine the strategic placement of the sharply sculpted bunkers, of which there are many. The design of the golf course blends seamlessly with the existing landscape with swaths of native grasses outlining each hole and natural rocky outcroppings coming into play throughout. The course incorporates links-style characteristics as well as a variety of different challenges including water hazards and deep rough. One particularly memorable water hole is the par-4 16th. This is Shadow Lakes Golf Club's signature hole that features an island green that slopes in front, back into the water.

Love the course, views and the people!
My friends and I play here at least once a week and always enjoy our day! The staff is friendly and ready to help, quick to go the extra mile for you too. Today, Jonnie P. and KJ met us as we parked with carts for us and loaded on our bags!
Great couse water and hills
I like this course and live nearby. This day was so
windy it was hard to stand on the tees. oh weell.
Shadow Lakes Review
The course played well, steady pace for a Sunday,
about 4.5 hours.
Conditions were good for California drought, greens
were fast but readable.
We played as threesome, joining a single, and I
was overall quite happy with the conditions & the
pace.

Great course
Course is in great shape , greens are smooth and simi fast . Scenery is off the charts and very fun to play . Food service is awesome and staff is very friendly .
Good Value Except
Course is in decent conditions. Greens are good. Pace of play was decent, 4 hours midday, with minimal waits at most tees. Would've been pleasant had it not been for a jerk who began yelling that we were playing too slow. We offered to let him take a look at the groups ahead of us and why we were waiting but he became very violent and kept yelling at us. I'm no beginner and the pace of play was not bad. We played 18 holes in 4 hours despite the brief waits. This guy was a real winner!!! Problem was there were no Marshall's on the course to police this guy's actions. So 13 of 18 holes were good, the last 5 holes became awkward!! My advice, don't play in front of this jerk!!
Shadow Lakes is much improved
Shadow Lakes is in the best condition that I have seen it in in a long time; very green and well taken care of. The greens were aerated quite a few weeks ago and have came back pretty fast, I was impressed. After our just under 4 hour round we went to the 19th Hole for drinks and appetizers, and were extremely satisfied with the great customer service and our food was excellent. Shadow Lakes is my favorite course in the East Bay, a must play course.
tough track but fun
Hadn't played here in a while. I forgot how much break these greens have. They had a great price for Sunday afternoon can't beat it.
Great Day for Golf.
Course is in great shape, green all around. Greens were incredible. Staff was very welcoming. Can't wait to play at Shadow Lakes again. They have turned it around.

It's a great place good location very friendly staff and. Hard course for begginer but it's manageable . I would always and will recommend to my friends .

Good deal on golf now for 20 bucks
Staff not friendly hot dog at turn was cold golf cart not in good shape . Course overall was good. But not impressed with people and food
pace of play
Our experience at course was, overall, very favorable. Staff was very friendly in the clubhouse, restaurant and on the course. Course condition was very good....greens fast and undulating. A couple of areas for improvement are: 1 scorecard should have pictures of the course on them. Many second shots are blind. 2. The rough and hills need to be cut lower. A ball hit into it is lost as vegetation is 6" or taller and the ball most vanishes. Shorter cut rough would DRAMATICALLY speed play, reduce lost balls and lower golfer frustration. One word to restaurant, condiments for food at the turn ate so !much better out of a container rather than a packet. Mustard, ketchup, kraut, pickles/relish and onions are needed....and would increase sales too. We had great time but with the I!ptovements listed above it would have even been better.
course condition
Very disappointed in course conditions. When I called to asked about the greens after the recent aerification, I was told that "they're almost perfect". Nothing could've been further from the truth. The greens were slow and bumpy, weeks away from being playable. Had I not received such a cheap rate, a would have requested a refund.
Far From Boring
Adrenaline junkies delight! This course has everything to keep someone alert!!
When the cart girl came around, I ordered two flat lies, hold the sand traps and no OB.....Of COURSE she messed up my order. But since Golfnow gave me a 49% discount, on green fees, It only cost $18.00, and 4 hrs to eat that SANDwich. Shadow Lakes, is a HOOT to play
beautiful course
The course is in great condition, the greens are a little rough due to recent aeration. Love the layout on each hole.

The Pins were placed in some tricky spots
Course was in very good shape and overall improving since last time playing there. The pins were all in very tricky spots and never had a straight putt.
