Nice course well maintained, would be nice to have more distance markers. play was a little slow but it was a weekend

The facilities are nice, the staff friendly enough, but the course condition made for a disappointing round. There were a lot of "ground under repair" areas in the fairways, which is fine, but the greens, which are sizeable and undulating, were in poor condition. Very bumpy and slow due to lack of attention. Perhaps we caught them during a bad maintenance period, but for the price, I expected much better conditions.

Super fun course, great views. Really challenging uphill par 5's and super fun downhill par 3's, and lots of water. I had a great time there. I would definitely go back.

The two sister courses – Shadow Lakes and Deer Ridge – are my favorites. Bent grass fairways and greens are especially nice to play on in this sea of Poa Anna we have around here.

The greens were just punched last week, and difficult to putt as expected, but the reduced green fee made it a worthwhile afternoon.

I will be back.

The course is laid out in a housing development, and there are some holes where the homes could come into play on an errant shot.

Not an overly long or difficult course, but you better be able to hit it fairly straight. Hole 5 is pretty tough, a long par 5 uphill the whole way and usually right into the wind.

The greens can be tough, even 3 footers are no easy task.

If you ever play Shadow Lakes, just be sure you don't play it when they have tournaments going on. It took us 3 hours to play the first 9 and just about 2:40 for the back. When mentioning it to the marshall, he said "I know... nothing I can do about it." YET when watching the guys in front of us, they were playing 2-man scrambles and were walking back n forth to pick up balls, to and from the tee boxes, and to and from the greens at a snail's pace! And the group in front of them were a hole behind. So, marshall, there actually WAS something you could have done, and because you didn't, explain to me why you work there again? But otherwise, the fairways and greens were in great condition, but the traps had little to no sand. Still one of the better courses in the area, so I'll play again... just not on a tournament day.

Course gives you a chance to use most of the clubs in your bag and has downhill and uphill holes with lots of good views of Mt Diablo and of the Delta.

I have played this course roughly a hundred times. I have never experience someone behind the counter with an attitude of us being an inconvenience to them doing their job. I highly suggest that in the future you don't leave someone with no tact to man the ship.

Played Sunday afternoon, teed off at 1:20 and was off the course by 4:30! Greens are in great shape, tough but roll true. The most challenging hole on the course is # 6, Diablo Grande, plays 550 yards straight up hill into the wind...but standing on the tee box is one of the best views in all of Brentwood! Overall it's a great course, it will give you opportunities to score but is also will challenge you on many holes.

Can be a great course with some TLC
Greens are not bad but from tee to green the course needs attention.

I would rate the overall experience as good. Pace was good until about the 14th hole where it slowed to a crawl.

The fairways are in good condition. The rough is not too thick. There is not much good about going left or right, need to stay in the middle as most holes are narrow.

The greens are tough. No flat greens, all are undulating with slanted greens. Often would land on a green, only to have it roll off...

Biggest negative is absolutely no shade anywhere. It gets really hot in Brentwood, and to plan for no trees near the greens was foolish.

Great potential but course needs attention. Carts aged, greens not consistent, frequent hard pan at expected landing areas, small warm up putting area , no course map for those unfamiliar with the course and rare yardage markers in the fairways.

The course management needs remind all players to repair all divot marks on greens.

The greens were in perfect condition and speed was outstanding. Fairways needed some water and were worn from traffic in certain areas. The carts were in good condition. Beverage carts could have been a little more available for drinks due to it being so hot. Had to get drinks at turn.

I've always loved playing here, the only complaint about this previous round was that the course was a bit sloppy. It seemed as though there was a bit of an irrigation issue because despite the lack of rain we've had for some time now, several areas were very soggy. I'm not sure if they over watered or what but I had a few balls lodged deep in ground where that should never be a problem. Nonetheless, it was a fun round as always and I'll definitely be back.

Needs some work, very slow pace of play, marshal useless. Staff uninterested in helping. Overall not a pleasant day at the course. Stay away

Lots of fun challenging holes. Pretty wide open. Hilly but not a bunch of blind shots. We had never played there before but we worked our way around this very nice layout. A little work need to be done on the course in certain places. But I think things are getting better as the economy improves. Overall a very fun, fair, challenging course. Wait until you get to 16 and 17 ... have fun.
