Nestled at the base of Mount Diablo, Deer Ridge Golf Club wanders through rolling, oak-dappled hills. The course has several challenging holes but the hazards are balanced by more player-friendly elements like wide, forgiving fairways and generous greens. There is also plenty of room off the tees and at just over 6,300 yards it is a manageable length as well. Though it is gentle enough for beginners, the thoughtful routing and hilly terrain keep it interesting for low handicappers. Deer Ridge Golf Club's front nine is more open and slightly less difficult, but the back nine gets a little trickier with more trees and more dramatic elevation changes coming into play. The terrain gives each hole a unique character and different challenges. The wind can also be a major factor. Good course management will be well rewarded.

DEER RIDGE HAS CLOSED
I am heartbroken. Another great golf course closes permanently. Is there no future for municipal golf courses? Very sad!
Last Time
I’ve played Deer Ridge a number of times over the year and this round today was in memorial to these times, because this Sunday will be their last day for business. Due to high operating expenses and low revenues, they are forced to make this decision,

Brentwood's Best?
Overall the course was in decent shape. There were greens that seem to have been attacked by some type of fungus or something. I missed several putts because it was like four wheel drive putting. It's a good course that will challenge you a bit.

Labor day golf
Great layout. The course is in good shape. It seems like there are new grounds keepers. Still need to put sand in the traps. It would be nice to have a good practice facility. I'll be back to play again though.

Need Drinking Water
It was one of the hottest days of the year. Our foursome ran out of water and Gatorade. One of the course water coolers as empty. It was hole number 13.

Love Deer Ridge
This has become one of my favorite courses to play. I love the layout and the pace of play is generally good. It was baking hot, but what do you expect? It's Brentwood. Can't wait to go back.

Drying out FAST!
From a week ago to today, we noticed the course is drying out pretty fast. Half the greens are in trouble .

Clean and green
Haven't played Deer Ridge for a while. It was a real treat. Loved the greens. Course was a little wet but looked awesome!

07/2319 golf date with the guys
Had a great day playing on the deer ridge course.. not our first time, and for sure not our last. We enjoy the course... very easy to play .. the pace was nice and course wasn’t in to bad of shape... although I donated some gold balls .. I found some as well... glad to have a nice course close to home with the service they provide... thank you deer ridge golf course...

Slow Twosome
We played the front nine in two hours as a foursome. We watched every shot of a twosome in front of us throughout the back nine and waited on every hole.

Fun course super friendly staff!
This was our first time playing this course. The course is very challenging and greens in very nice condition. There are some fairways under repair but nothing hard to deal with. Love The elevated tees on some holes. Overall a very nice experience.
Some issues noted during our round.
Gardeners cutting grass around greens and not stopping during play, this is just good golf edict when people are chipping & putting. Very distracting. Same on tees.
The holes have no indicator signs at all! You can struggle in some instances find the correct paths! These are just my comments. We very much enjoyed the round and will most definitely be back!
