Nestled at the base of Mount Diablo, Deer Ridge Golf Club wanders through rolling, oak-dappled hills. The course has several challenging holes but the hazards are balanced by more player-friendly elements like wide, forgiving fairways and generous greens. There is also plenty of room off the tees and at just over 6,300 yards it is a manageable length as well. Though it is gentle enough for beginners, the thoughtful routing and hilly terrain keep it interesting for low handicappers. Deer Ridge Golf Club's front nine is more open and slightly less difficult, but the back nine gets a little trickier with more trees and more dramatic elevation changes coming into play. The terrain gives each hole a unique character and different challenges. The wind can also be a major factor. Good course management will be well rewarded.

Easy Play
This is a fairly easy course to play despite the pace of on a few of the holes. The course is mostly flat with a few challenging down hill holes. Greens were in pretty good shape and were sometime deceptive in reading the breaks. The course could have been easier to navigate from hole to hole as there were no markers to indicate which hole you were playing.

Pace of play
I don’t often play on a Saturday for many reasons. Was able to play last Saturday and the pace of play was unreal over 5 hours for a round. Never once saw a Marshall come out. Other then that course was nice condition over all.

Fairways and Greens were rough
Most of the fairways played like intermediate rough. Not a lot of mowing had occurred recently. #10 especially was in poor condition. 4"-6" weeds made up the fairway.
All of the bunkers were soaking wet and lacking sand.
The greens appear to be diseased. In the past the Deer Ridge greens have been immaculate. Fast and true rolling. They were anything but that.

Deer Ridge Golf Course
Played using hot deal which made the fee very affordable. Played from the white tees. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in good condition with greens plaing true. Several bunkers are hard n barely playable. Rough are cut just enough to punish errant shots, but not cut too high to make them unplayable. But don’t go into the tall weeds as ball be likely be lost. Will surely be playing this course more.

Pace was great completed in 3 hrs. Company was fun and weather was good.

Better than expected
I heard that the course was in poor shape. It was actually pretty decent. There were parts of the fairways that were patchy or uncut but, overall, the course was in pretty good shape.
The bunkers were fine. The greens were on the slow side.
The biggest problem were fivesomes that were allowed out which slowed up play.
All in all, not bad and we'll return. It turned out to be a pretty fun day.

A Nice Place to Play
You will not find a golf course maintained as well as this one for the price. Excellent value and a great Sunday Morning excursion.
Deer Ridge Rocks!
I have played this course quite a few times and I must say it never gets easier nor boring. Conditions are great and the price is amazing.
Eh, not what I expected
No markings to let you know which hole you’re on. And no food or bar on the day I played. And no drink cart.

I had a fun day no problems except my game but it was my fault course is great people are great I was even after six and I was 11 over after nine
