About
Blackstone Golf Club is one of the hidden gems of Chicagoland golf courses. It has one of the most natural landscapes of any course in the area thanks to the incorporation of more than 26 acres of environmentally protected wetlands. Half of the course is routed through dense forests of oak and hickory trees while the other half stretches across lush, open meadows. The wetlands come into play on 13 holes. Bob Lohmann, the golf course’s designer, crafted dramatic bunkers with irregular edges and strategically placed more than 50 of them along the greensides and fairways. It’s not a golf course where you can “grip it and rip it,” instead it will force you to think carefully before each hole. The layout can be a challenging test but four sets of tees and wide, player-friendly fairways make Blackstone G.C. more accessible for a wide range of skill levels.

Challenging and Scenic
The round was made much harder by the wind. Right away upon arriving at the course, we knew it was going to be a tough but scenic round. This is definitely a course you need to THINK your way around. Very, very quick greens. There are a couple par 4's that are driveable. In my opinion you are best off laying up with a short or mid iron and approaching with a wedge. Stay away from bunkers as they can destroy your round. Enjoyed this course quite a bit. Definitely would go back.
overall good course to play
we played 4 some in nice weather .you need to play at least once or twice if you in area.
there was no water filled up and no beverage lady though they have halfway house . nice club house.
WOW!
What a nice course. Well maintained. Friendly staff. It was the first time playing this course .I found it to be a tough and challenging course. A absolutely beautiful tract .The fairways roll better than the greens at some courses I have played , and the greens were glass like, so much fun. The best part is it's right in my backyard. Tomorrow I become a member
Holiday play
Course in super shape. Greens outstanding. Very quick. Facilities are second to none in the area. Pace of play was great. Staff was very friendly. Will play again soon. Wish it was closer to me.
Challenging and playable
The course is in great shape. The greens were fast and true. This course is a bargain for under $60. The course has a great clubhouse too. It's worth the 45 minute drive it took to get there.
Challenging, well kept course
Pro shop woman has been very courteous and helpful on both occasions I have played here. A number of the holes are uniquely challenging.
Slow play on Sunday
I had heard such great things about the course, I was really looking forward to playing it. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the pace of play on this Sunday afternoon. There were lots of families out on the course and forced us to wait on every hole. We never saw a ranger out there to move things along.
On the positive side, the course was in good shape, and well maintained. The clubhouse and practice facilities were nice too. I would not pay summer rates if it played that slow again.
Excellent course
Challenging, perfectly manicured fairways and fast greens. Great course to walk. Even seen five (5) Sandhill Cranes on the 12th and 16th holes.
Some deep sand traps with nice gain of sand.

A Hidden Gem
Found this course to be fun, Challenging, and extremely scenic. This course is worth the G N rate I got, but I would never pay there prices to play here, not because it's to expensive, but I simply could not afford to play this nice course at there prices, It's a shame that courses feel the need to charge high rates, I know this because I live in lake Geneva WI. Trust me I know high prices to play golf in Lake Geneva WI. Friendly staff, nice layout, I hope to come back if I can get another great deal on G N, By far my favorite course in Illinois I played this year. If I could afford it, this would be the course I would want to be a member of. The course is Awesome.

Always fun
Course is challenging but fun. Crazy pin placement, undulations on fairways and greens. If you're a target player, good course for you, if not could be trouble all over.
Worth the Drive
Unique layout 3 par 3's, 3 par 4's 3 par 5's on the front 9. First 2 holes fool you into thinking this course isn't going to be very challenging. Then things change quickly. Many difficult holes, yet fair. Greens run to fast for my skill level. Great change of pace to take the drive to Marengo and enjoy a beautiful course.

We really enjoy this course. We followed an outing, but pace of play was still great. Greens were a little beat up from outing, but the course in general is in awesome shape!

The best golf course
I drive an hour to play this course. The staff is great and the condition of the course is outstanding! The greens are fast, fairways are perfect.

A course everyone should experience at least once.
Wow, a phenomenal course. I enjoy playing different courses and Blackstone sets the standard for excellence. The tees are plush, the fairways like playing on carpet and the greens the fastest I have ever played. Every hole is picturesque with a third of the holes set in open prairie, a third in savanna, and a third in forest. An undulating topography with plenty of sand and water hazards make the course difficult. If you are looking for a special treat and a great round of golf, Blackstone delivers both.
Blackstone consistently great !!
Greens are true and fast. No gimmicky holes, it has the potential to host some highly competitive tournaments. It plays longer than the scorecard states too. A definite A+ in my book.
Destination Kohler - Champions' Trail Golf Package
Bummer that you had a bad experience because of pace of play, but such is the nature of weekend golf. I love this course, and the staff is fantastic, so hopefully you can find time during the week to play, and you might change your opinion. Hit 'em straight.
