Eaglewood Resort & Spa

About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

Only took me 30 years! Photo submitted by rjhmu on 11/04/2012
Greens in very bad shape
I've played this course several times. This last time the greens were in bad shape. Divots everywhere! Fresh and old.
Solid Course
Very very good course to play at for about any level of play. Greens were a bit dry and tough, but other than that 10/10
Pretty Course
Most the Chicagoland courses I play are relatively flat. Eaglewood has some nice hillyness and is an overall very pretty course. For the money, I think it’s the best out there I’ve played so far!
Nice day on the links close to home.
Good experience, local course and played in just under four hours
JUST GO PLAY THERE!
Really good short course that requires accuracy to greens that slope back to front. Tees, fairways, traps and greens all is great shape. Give this classic old course a try with a good deal from Golf Now.
Fun day on the links
Played in about four hours which was better than expected. Felt that the course was in above average shape and a good buy for the fee.
Rain out
Thanks to GolfNow and the weather, we were only about to finish 7 holes before it started raining. The course said they were not able to give us a rain check since we booked with GolfNow instead of through the course, which is why I will no longer be using GolfNow to book tee times.
