Eaglewood Resort & Spa
About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

Eagle wood golf resort
Great course to play . I feel comfortable playing here . Has some challenging holes with deep bunkers and pitched greens . The course was in great shape .
Nice layout in very good condition
Eagle wood has a few quirky holes, but overall is a good and fair test of your golf skills. The rough is medium length, requiring some strength to dig out your ball, and good tracking skills to find it in the rough. Some holes have tight fairways requiring straight drives. Greens were in pretty good condition, with a few ball marks, but generally much better than most of the public courses in the area. I went back to this course despite a long drive from downtown Chicago because it is among the best courses i’ve played this year in the Chicago area.
Great Putting Greens
A tight course, and challenging. The greens are tough, but you’ll earn every putt - will definitely come back and play again soon.
Great Staff
The course was saturated due to heavy rain the night before. Greens were understandably in below average shape and the fairways were water logged. The tee boxes were uneven but the course has a great layout with bunkers always in play. Weird to have no beverage cart or water on the course on a hot and humid day. Andrea in the restaurant is an excellent server who gave us great guidance on the menu. She also did a great job efficiently working a packed bar area on her own!!
Do Your Job!
Had an 11:20 Tee time, there was no ranger to check us in, I did it myself. There was an outing in front of us and there was no course management at all. Took 45 minutes to play first 2 holes. Spoke to a ranger about pace of play, he told us he spoke with the 2 women 2 holes ahead of us who refused to let anyone play thru. The shared a cart with one bag, and never left the cart path to hit their balls. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE...
awesome course
The staff is "wow " supper friendly … Great Place !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My new favorite course
I was very impressed with the Eaglewood course. It is in very good condition and very playable. The greens roll true and are in good condition. Many of the fairways are narrow and require accurate drives. I found the course challenging and was very satisfied with the 86 I shot. A longer hitter might score better, but my short game prowess made up for some shortness off the tee. I plan to play this course again and highly recommend it. This is my first 5 star rating for a course.
Eaglebrook
Great challenge off the tips... Worth a play. Played first tee time and finished in 2 hours alone in cart.
Fun, Challenging yet Deceptive
This was my first time playing this course of which I played late afternoon. I started on the back nine due to an outing and found out how this course is deceptive. Although from the tips its a little over 6K yards, it is a very challenging course that requires precise shots. With strategic placed bunkers, creeks and elevated tees and greens this course has it all for all levels of golfers. There was only two clubs I didn't use out of 14. What's fun about this course is that it has some par 4's that are a around the 300 yard mark that makes the strong possibility of making a birdie, but don't get complacent. To make matters interesting they even throw in a 90 yard par 3 just to mix things up. I actually shot my best golf ever for first time playing this course. The designers of this course did a great job for a short course mixing things up and making the play fun. I can't wait to play this course again now that I know what to look out for. The only drawback I saw was that holes are very close together and some tee boxes are close to greens that you have to watch out for errant shots by other golfers. Either way I highly recommend this course as a MUST play.
Needs GPS
needs GPS, its a bit pricey for a course that don't have a lot of amenities. Price drops later in the day make it a good deal. Otherwise, I like everything else.
Hidden Gem!
Though not the longest course you will ever play Eaglewood is a great challenge. With strategically placed deep bunkers and undulating greens, this track is worth giving a try. Also worth mentioning that the 19th hole is amazing.
Funky.
Long 3's.
Long 5's.
Moderate/Short 4's.
Funky layout u need to thread trees, sharp doglegs and elevation changes.
If ur irons are on, you'll score well.
Very Good Course
Other than a few mushy spots, this is a very nice course. Good elevation and the greens are in reasonable shape. The clubhouse is a great for a post-round beer and bite. Excellent bartender.
ALSO...hit one of my best shots in a long time here to eagle the 15th!!!
