Golfer Reviews
this bear is in the ROUGH
upon arrival i find my 1pm time is still on time even though i am following a 12 noon shotgun outing .i am told it is a 4:15 hour round or so, but it took 4:45. "there is a marshal for each side" never saw one on the back and took 2:45 to play those 9. the counter person tried to charge me again for my hot deal rate., $4 for a small bucket on an IRONS ONLY RANGE? there is an almost dangerous level of play with a very close proximity of greens to tees and adjacent fairways. if you hit a tee shot that even rolls in the rough you may lose the ball. VERY long deep dense rough. interesting layout with some fun holes, but heard a LOT of balls bouncing off trees and had many people crossing through my fairway looking for their ball
Bear Creek
Friendly staff, nice course. Booked tee time through online service. Value at reduced price was excellent. I would not pay 50 to 60 dollars to play, but a very good golf course.
Bob S.
Always fun playing this course. It was a little wet in places but what can you do with mother nature. Our group loves the elevation changes, and the challenges the course offers.
Lots of elevation changes
Course was in very good condition. Always fun to play with all of the elevation changes. Not many level lies....
Great golf terrain.
This is a fun course to play. It was early in the season, so the course wasn't in as good condition as possible and the greens were recovering from aeration.
I would highly recommend this course.
This course in great shape
Greens and fairways very fast. They had it ready to play. I would play it again.
I'll not play here again.
The course has sloping fairways that take the ball on a lot of holes into the rough or woods. I would not recommend this course. I would not play here again.
Bear Creek 2 holes closed! !
Holes 10 and 15 were closed. Only able to play 16 holes. Golf Now advertised as 18 holes with cart.
Resort course
Hilly terrain, soft fairways, receptive greens that putt true. An excellent test of golf at an outstanding value.
Good day at Big Bear
Had a great breakfast at their restaurant. Played 18 holes in 3 and 1/2 hours. Nice course, good weather.Would recommend playing there.
Hadn't played this course for 3 or so years --- forgot how tricky it can be.
We were a twosome behind 2 foursomes so we waited every hole but we knew that from the start. Couple of holes were under repair which offers some confusion. Fairways were in great shape but the greens showed some use and still were quick. Failure for players to repair divots on the greens is rude behavior and inconsiderate of other players.
Been awhile since we played this course --- forgot it can be tricky but still enjoyable.
Good $20 round.
GPS would be a nice addition for this course as there are many blind shots. Hole # 10 was being rebuilt so it was closed. No beverage cart and halfway house was after # 12.
Fun course !
This course was fun to play. It's back in the woods so it's nice and quiet. It has a few fun holes with big elevation changes its very hilly. Fairways and tee boxes are nice, but greens need a little work.
Bear Creek Valley
great course , nice greens great food and friendly staff!!!
Challenging course, in excellent shape
Came back to Bear Creek after swearing it off a couple of years ago because some holes were just too impossible. But they've rebuilt these holes, and they're improving other holes as well. Course was in excellent shape.
While most MO courses offer their share of difficulties because of the hills, Bear Creek is particularly stunning and has no homes along the fairways to impede this beauty. Highly recommend as a great value.
Nice course, great restarant
I play Bear Creek several times a year. It was in good shape. Bunkers had sand rather than rocks like some courses near here.
It was a slow day for the course, so they sent out a bunch of twosomes. Unfortunately, this resulted in us waiting on every hole to play. Would appreciate it if the courses would combine twosomes. It makes things faster.
