Great day!
We love playing this course! The course is in excellent condition. The grass in the fairways dies early(Zysioa?) but was lush and full. The starter was so nice and let us play Tuckahoe instead of one that was in the rotation. It is nice that they have 3 different 9 hole courses to offer so you never get bored on this course! Greens were spectacular!! Smooth and true with elevation variances throughout. I like how the fairways are bordered with mogul type mounds, very interesting. Great views on this beautiful fall day!
Don't miss this one.
Great condition. Great pace. Beautiful scenery and super friendly staff. Don't miss it.
Friendly helpful staff, great course setting.
The staff all around were very helpful and accommodating from the pro shop to the range. Enjoyed the well-maintained course and scenery while shooting a good score on moderately fast greens.
Very enjoyable
Everything was great except the food options at the turn and the speed in which they were fixed! Golf wise it was wonderful!
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Tee to green the course was in great shape but I have never seen the fringes of greens in worse shape. I would rather they just burn the clumps of weeds and leave it dirt. At least it would be predictable. It's a small part of the course but makes a big, not so great impression. Greens were average thanks to a clear lack of ball-mark fixing by players.
Fringes in bad shape
Love playing this course, beautiful layout and extremely friendly staff! Just disappointed with the poor fringe conditions this time.
very scenic
gorgeous course. i enjoyed the round a lot. keep up the good work.
Horrendous
DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY PAYING FOR THIS ABSURDLY OVERPRICED GOLF COURSE. AT BEST, THIS IS A $30-$35 GOLF COURSE. On a scale of 1-5, the greens, tee boxes, fairways and rough are a 2. The sand traps/bunkers are a minus 1. Have no idea when the bunkers had any work done on them and looks like they have at least 6 months or more of weeds that have been growing in them. PATHETIC, ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY I’VE EVER SPENT PLAYING GOLF.
Amazing course in the mountains setting.
I enjoyed this round with my brother in law while on vacation in the blue ridge mountains. Just stunning views and the course was imaculant.
Always a Treat!
Played all 3 nines today and would definitely give the nod to Monocan & Tuckahoe as the two in the best condition out of the 3. It’s always a treat playing StoneyCreek!
Absolutely beautiful
Scenic and challenging to play. You can get lost in the views on the course. Will definitely play again.
Shamokin Needs Some TLC
I've always loved played here and normally it's in great shape and a good value. The 27-hole course is divided into three courses, and they all play very differently. But the conditions are not consistent and that's an issue for the price being charged.
Tuckahoe 9 is in great shape, with freshly cut zoysia grass fairways and rough and well-kept bunkers. But the same can't be said about the Shamokin 9 with its Bermuda grass and weed-infested bunkers. It's a little embarrassing for a course charging over $60 for a round, you would expect better conditions on that nine, even with the restrictions from this crazy year. The lack of maintenance extended to the practice areas as well and it's not a great look for a course that normally has some of the best conditions around.
Subpar conditions aside, the rest of the round went well once be passed the 4-some in front of us that was on pace for a 5.5 hour round (they were nice about it). The mountain setting makes up for a lot and the staff is pretty friendly.
The restaurant was still closed for COVID so I can't offer an opinion on the food here. Come for the views and elevated tees, but maybe don't pay the full rack rate until conditions improve a bit.
