Windswept Dunes Golf Course

About
Windswept Dunes Golf Club tumbles across a dramatic landscape covered with white sand dunes accented by lush green fairways. The golf course appeals to players of all skill levels thanks to player-friendly features that are balanced by strategically placed hazards. Although each hole shares the characteristic of being lined with dunes, they each maintain a unique character. The rolling fairways are often wide and generous off the tee and the sand dunes, which stretch from tee too green, are only punishing of the most errant of shots. The approach shots though are as demanding as the tee shots are forgiving. There are numerous bunkers fiercely guarding the large, smooth greens. While the occasional water hazard comes into play, the bunkers are the most challenging element of Windswept Dunes Golf Club.

Nice practice facility and nice course
Windswept offers a nice range of tee decks for all skill levels. I do wish they had some combos available on the score cards as there is a big difference between sedge and white (5000-6000). Nice wide fairways with a fair number of bunkers. It’s great to play there more than once so you know where to mis your shots. Pretty good condition for dormant season. Lots of roll on your balls.
Lots of sand
Played this course with my wife. She loved it. Not a hard course if you stay out of the sand traps. If I am in the area I would for sure play it again.
Good layout needs love
For the money they charge for this course it should be in much better shape.
It’s a fun little layout but pace was dismal, no beverage cart, the coolers of water were empty.
Spend half the year on Florida and the management could care less about locals unless you have an I’d.
Poor way to handle people that could support you on a weekly basis.
Won’t be back
Great fun challenging course
We played here in 2024 and it was dusty and a bit run down. This year we were pleasantly surprised by the new asphalt cart paths and great new hole signs with ball washers. Really has improved in 1 year. Great practice area as well
Amazing course
Although we played in winter conditions…50d, grass is dormant, the course was still very playable, green rolled thrue…9-9.5 I guess on the meter….amazing layout, though course with 5 sets of tees to chose from
Fair country course
The course is over priced. I don’t mind paying $125+
But not for a country course with poor amenities and unfriendly staff.
The starter was great. But check in was not.
The course is wide and long with several tee slots.
The sand bunkers are brutal. They have tall heavy grass bordering them which makes it difficult to hit out of, let alone find your ball.
First time I have seen those type of bunkers.
Greens were in good shape.
This course should be priced in the $75.00 range.
I won’t be back or recommend it to my fellow golfers.
Big and fun course
Really liked this course. Long (7800 yds) for those that want it, but five more tees for the medium to short hitters. Routed really well so you don't notice other players, or even the homes scattered around in most spots. Lots of hazards with tall grasses and washout areas make it pleasing to the eye. But don't be intimidated as the landing areas are wide. If you hit it fairly straight and can place it, you can score well. Finally, practice up on your lag putting cause the green complexes are huge.
Challenging and Fun!!!
This course is very challenging and a lot of fun! Lots of tee boxes to choose from for all skill ranges. You don’t see many courses that are 7800 yards from the tips! A little pricey but it’s an overall good experience.
Great course
Great course, always in excellent condition. Nice wide fairways, good greens. Only negatives, no golf cart girl, and the food isn’t very good.
Great Layout and Condition
Former Golf Professional and 0 handicap. The course layout is great, design is good. Long drive from green to tee. It’s spaced out so plan on 4 hours. Best course I have played in the area and worth the drive. The staff was extremely friendly. The course is forgiving with huge fairways and forgiving greens.
Perfect conditions from tees to greens
Just a little bit further away from Destin, we all enjoyed the golf course a lot!
Hidden Gem
I had never heard of this course until it started popping up on Golfpass. It is a wonderful layout and is a beautiful course, especially the back nine. It has more tee markers than I have ever seen on a course so most handi-caps can comfortably play. Speaking of comfortable, the seats on the golf carts are plush. I have 2 things to ding, but one of them isn't necessarily the courses fault.
1. A small range bucket cost $12. That is quite higher than I am accustomed to. Range balls are included at other courses in the area.
2. No golfers seem to repair their ball marks on the greens. It is to the point where it affects most putts.
Worth the Trip
This course was worth the drive from the coast. It is a long course, but has many tee options, very well layed out, the greens were very challenging. Will be back on our next trip to the area!
Wundervoller Golftag
Wir waren begeistert von dem golfcourse und kommen sicher wieder. Schönster Platz den wir bisher in Florida gespielt haben
