Mansfield National Golf Club
About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

Challenging but need more attentive personnel
This is the second time I have booked with Golfnow and was postponed by a tournament the first time(which took precedent over my foursome) and by lack of available carts the second time, but at least on the second occasion I received a free bucket of range balls. If this continues, I would hope the rates go down.
Nice course
I have played this course many times and have always enjoyed it. Greens are in great shape.
Good Greens and Tee Boxes
In the past Mansfield has been a very good course. But this round was not good. This round at Mansfield was the LONGEST round that I have ever played. 6 hours 10 min. They stacked 3-4 groups per hole and we were at a snail’s pace. Through the 6 hours we never saw a marshal and only saw the cart girl 4 times. Hole 1, Hole 7, Hole 12 and Hole 18. Needless to say it was a very long day. On the positive, it is February and we are playing golf. The Tee boxes and the Greens were in good shape. The staff was apologetic and returned our money that we paid for the round.
Ball washers worked!
The day we played the wind was blowing at 30+ mph so it was not the most conducive weather for a round but I enjoyed playing the course, it was on my level challenge wise and all the ball washers worked and had soap in them, seems to be a premium now at most courses. All in all, I would go back, would like to see some better online deals.
Some challenging holes -- interesting course.
Greens and tees over seeded providing nice appearance and smooth putting surface although a little slow. Had not played here in a couple of years. Need to go back more often and get better acquainted with the course.
Great course but absent marshalls.
I played the course on a Saturday morning and the staff were very polite and apologetic that tee times were running behind even though it was only 9:15am. Our tee time was 10:00 but we didn't actually hit our first drive until 45mins later. With THREE groups backed up on the #2 tees the marshalls seemed to ignore the traffic jam and allow slow groups to play at a pace similar to turtle racing. This caused for a 5 1/2 hour round!! Ridiculous! Either someone overbooked tee times or forgot to inform the marshalls of their job description. I loved the course, it was in great shape, and I would love to play again. I'll be hesitant though to play a spring/summer round if the winter is so log jammed. I'd recommend the course only on the condition that it's on a weekday if you want to have any fun playing.
Awesome course!
Enjoyed playing the course on yesterday. No issues getting checked in. Greens were in great condition.
Easy start, challenging ending
This course, for being in winter, had very good greens. Fairways were okay (but in winter this can be expected). The first four holes are wide open, good to get in the groove, then as the holes progress they get tighter and tighter. Then the last hole is a wide dogleg to the left, great finish.
With GolfNow discount this is a great value.
For a course in dormant winer conditions, with overseeded greens, this is a good place to play. Can't wait to see what it looks like when it all grows in. Great mix of target and risk/reward golf. Pace of play was very good on the front and slowed down considerably on the back where it appeared a threesome was having a playing lesson. Could have used marshalls (oh, didn;t see one) to remedy situation. For less than $25 to play on a Friday, this was a great value.
The greens were the saving element for an otherwise suffering course
Mansfield National is a fun golf course to play. The design is favorable to the "average" golfer with generous fairways and large greens. Unfortunately, like so many other courses in our area, the golf course opens with great conditions but lack the monetary resources for good course maintenance which leads to its untimely deterioration. I can see where new maintenance efforts are taking place which is critical to ensure its survival. Major maintenance to the fairways should be high on the wish list.
Always had good rounds on this track.
Since the greens have been redone, this is a fun- to- play course.
The staff is an engaging group that works to accommodate you by going the extra mile, very unassuming quite unlike their neighboring counterparts....love the Nationial.
Good value with Golfnow discount
Nice course for the price. Mixture of Links style and traditional layout. Greens are in fabulous shape, especially for the first week of January. Beware the breaks on the greens, very subtle breaks that can fool you.
Staff is very friendly.
Only real comlaint I have with this course is that the bunkers are dirt not sand, which can make it difficult when wet.
Fairways are in decent shape considering it is winter time and there hasn't been very much rain lately. So you can expect alot of roll on your drives
Decent challenging course but beware the wind if its blowing.
Getting Back To Greatness
I used to play this course every weekend the matenance of it got to be poor so I stopped playing it, but now I must say its in great shape looking foward to starting my PDP back up this spring if not before
This course is in real good shape, fairways and greens.
You better score early on this course. It will bite you quick in the first par three. Do not be fooled by the first 4 holes, you will wish for a break later in your round. Worth playing over and over
Greens are looking good!
I was really happy with the course condition! The course played very well and appeared to be well maintained!
Greens were pristine. But...
Greens were pristine. But recent downpours had made accumulations of dead winter grass all over the fairways and the course had bad drainage. There were giant water hazards on nearly every fairway that were not supposed to be there. They were from recent rains. I love this course and defiantly want to go back, but do not go back after a rain. I loved the shape the greens were in for this time of year. The back nine is much more challenging due to more out of bounds due to very thick mesquite. Nice course. Will go back for sure.
Fun course,great greens
Fairways brown, so green u could see well. Had a lot of fun
Course great, staff not so good.
We had a tee time for 845am on a friday, but didn't start till 11am bc of the frost, which is understandable. Could of at least had the bar open for us to buy snacks or breakfast. But instead had a empty coffee pot. Nobody on the staff had a timetable of when we were going to start to play. Called other courses and they had started play an hour before mansfield. Course was in great condition. Pace of play was ok also. But overall experience was not good. Do not play there in the winter, unless you have alot of time on your hands.
Still charging a "GPS" fee. Beware of false price.
I don't know of any other course in the area that charges a GPS fee. Beware the golf now price you pay will be jacked up another $5 for their "fee". Otherwise course is in pretty good condition. Fairways are well maintained. Greens are getting better. I would give it two more stars if not for the GPS fee.
