The Palmer Course at Turtle Bay Resort gives you a taste of Scotland and a splash of jungle, all wrapped in a beautiful Hawaiian beach-front package.

With five miles of beaches, Turtle Bay Resort is the perfect place to gaze at Kawela Bay, Bay View Beach Lawn and Turtle Bay, itself. Only 45 minutes from Honolulu, the resort immerses guests in the natural beauty of Oahu. In fact, ocean views are the norm in every one of the resort's 443 rooms.

The Palmer Course was designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay and is the home to an annual event on the LPGA Tour. The golf course surrounds a wetland preserve known as the Punaho'olapa Marsh, which is home to many endangered Hawaiian birds.

The distinctive 18-hole championship course features a front nine that plays like Scottish Links with sand, water and rolling terrain and a back nine that rolls through a jungle forest of pine. The 17th hole, its signature, has nine bunkers leading up to a green that sits on a plateau 100 feet from the ocean.

A nice day for golf 😎

I was looking forward to a nice round of golf but the weather had other plans. The first few holes were pretty windy. But once the wind died down it was pretty nice.

As for the course, the staff was awesome 👏 very friendly and helpful.

The course itself was a bit funny, started with driving 5 minutes to get to the driving range. It took me less time to walk to the course 🤪

The Starter was very nice and got me on the box and teeing off right away.

I quickly caught up with a nice couple visiting from Japan and we joined up.

The rest of the round was pretty nice. Lost a couple of balls in the middle of the fairway, go figure. We all watched them and expected to see them right away but they were nowhere to be found.

The overall condition of the course was pretty much what I expected for a beach course. The greens were rolling nicely and the fairways were dry and smooth. Luckily I avoided the bunkers but they looked pretty hard and wet sand. The water was a factor for a couple of holes so you need to pay attention to the GPS . A few shots rolled up pretty close.

The Drink Cart was always close by and very friendly and the course puts ice and bottles of water on the carts keeping us hydrated 👍

Pretty sure I will be back on my next visit. Have fun if you go.

Hit them straight and not too often 😊

Hawaii golf on the North Shore

The course is well maintained and in good condition. It's pricy, but so are pretty much all of the nice courses on Oahu. I found the course to be wide open. A few holes with a bunch of greenside bunkers. Greens rolled very nicely! I played the Palmer course. I'll be back to try the Fazio.

O vacation

Played as a single, every group let me play through

2:30hr round , very special place for me

Golfing there is a gift every tie time. Bit pricey for over all . When the locals golf for less then half

And they don’t give deal on golf now .com

But I will return for another round no matter what

Love the staff and course

2 of 5 for price

But 5 of 5 for everything else

Many thanks

Overrated

For the money charged, this course is overrated. On the plus side, the greens were pristine. On the negative side, the bunkers were bare and hard. The fairways were okay. The cart paths were in need of some work. I saw the cart girl once and she didn't stop. The pace was slow with three groups point the same hike many times. When I finished my round, there was nowhere to even purchase a snack before my long ride home. This course was not the gem that I thought it would be.

Turtle Bay golf - Arnold Palmer

This is the third or fourth year in the row that we have traveled from Ko Olina to play this course. We continue to marvel that only hole 17 reaches the beach and its spectacular surf. The course is fairly wide-open and not to difficult. A couple of holes have nasty sand traps in the middle of the fairway.

Overall, it is a pleasant experience.

The onsite restaurant is excellent.

best round of golf

i was at Turtlebay on vacation had to play a round while here and could not of pick a better course to do so, everything about it made me play great, I played the Palmer and shot 37 going out could not believe how everything was going heading into back nine I came back down to earth and stumbled a little finishing with a 44 on the way in for a total final score 81 pretty much my low average using rental clubs and playing first time on a very challenging course was super happy. can't wait to come back

New Year’s Day twosome

Game was phenomenal. Play was great. Everything was perfect. My only complaint is the pace of play. We started at 1:40 and didn’t get off the course until 30 minutes after the carts were supposed to be returned. It was nice that we did get to finish. But we were waiting in line behind a couple different groups and had up to 4 groups waiting behind us ever since the start of hole 7. It was very cramped most of the game.

T-Time

A group of 8 arrived for their T-Time 30+ minutes late and were shoved on to the course slowing the entire course down behind them. They play several holes as 8. No marshal in site to help with pace or childlike stunts done by the group. They showed up tipsy and proceeded to purchase (3) 12 packs before leaving the Clubhouse.

Turtle swamp not Turtle Bay

Course was in good condition, very disappointed that only one hole, 17, where we could see Turtle Bay and you had to walk from hole to see it! Disappointed by lack of beach views along the course, you are literally in swampy area, pups have been south Louisiana.

However, course was in great shape maintenance wise, and staff were friendly. But, value for money not there,!

With the wind it plays like Pebble

It took a round just to figure out what clubs to hit into the wind often 2-3 clubs more at times. 20-40 mpg gusts made it extremely challenging but a very nice course. Will definitely come back for another golf vacation!

Not Recommend at this time - Greens Not Recovered from Aeration

Greens were aerated earlier in the month and have not yet fully recovered, so the sand filled holes slowed the greens and didn’t give a true break. I played 2 other courses and their greens were excellent. The course only offers an aeration discount for a week and should be for 4 weeks or until the greens fully recover. I was really looking forward to playing this course and it’s unfortunate the greens were in this shape. I imagine in a week or 2 the greens will be in top shape, but I won’t be here to enjoy them.

Slow pace, Excellent Course

We played the Palmer side, quite the hike h from the clubhouse to the first tee. Course is in excellent condition, in particular the greens are amazingly consistent and nearly blemish free! Many holes have varied terrain and well placed hazards (traps, trees, and water oh my!). Each of the staff members we encountered were friendly and informative. We will be back!
