McCullough's Emerald Golf Links
About
The golf course at McCullough's Emerald Golf Links is an 18-hole, public course that is situated within minutes of Atlantic City. Designer, Stephen Kay decided to pay tribute to famous European golf courses such as St. Andrew's in his design. The European influences are reflected in the open fairways, tricky strong winds, and undulating greens. The golf course also boasts the region's only 100-feet elevation changes.
McCullough's Emerald Golf Links' signature hole is the seventh; it is also the course's most unique. The hole features hazards like large bunkers and wide, rolling fairways. Water hazards also come into play on five holes. The acclaimed golf course is challenging but it does provide a truly unique golfing experience.

My new favorite course!
Got a deal on GolfNow so the usual higher-ish price was lowered and it was a steal! The course is challenging with rolling hills & tons of tough bunkers. It is well maintained and beautiful. All holes are replicas of a famous hole in Iteland/Scotland/England, which adds a very fun twist. We didnt eat but the beers were cheap enough. The staff was friendly & knowledgeable. I wouldn't be able to afford to go there all the time but as a treat to myself, I'll be going back for sure!
Great day of golf
Nothing not to like,great condition,challenging.
Will play again and again.
GREAT TIME WITH GROUP OF 10
UNLIKE SEVERAL OTHER REVIEWERS, WE HAD A PARTY OF 10 AND THE STAFF WAS GREAT...LET US PLAY AT A NICE PACE AND THE COURSE WAS IN REALLY NICE SHAPE...A GREAT VALUE FOR A SHORE COURSE IN HIGH SEASON...
Good but .....
Would have been pretty good except the 1/2 hour wait on the turn as they were putting groups off the back. That was backbreaking and unacceptable. Finished front in 2hr 15min. Back in almost 3 with the wait.
Great Link style course
First time playing this course with my father and it was great. We both enjoyed the course conditions and strategic holes. Only complaint is the group in front of us was slow. The Rangers talked to them which helped but still slowed the pace of play. Great time tho overall!
Great course
I was impressed at the condition and design of this course being a first-timer on this course and on a links course. Played on a Monday and pace was good, was a little clogged on the back 9. Greens and fairways were great. Having GPS in the cart made club selection and approach a lot easier. I would highly recommend this course for anyone who vacations down the Jersey shore.
Ranger
We had an 8:45 tee time on Tuesday. Pace of play was supposed to be 4:15. We were a threesome, each of us shoot in the 80's. So we're not bad golfers. Even though group behind us never waited and we were usually off hole before they got to tee box. The ranger was all over us. When we finished, we waited 15 minutes and group behind still had not got to 18th tee box. It was just frustrating that ranger picked us to follow all day. Group in front of us was on 18th green when we teed off for final hole
Enjoyed the course
First time playing the course. It was in good shape, played well and it was fun. Only complaint was that the Ranger continually told us to hurry up play even though the foursome behind us was nowhere in view and we were only slightly behind the foursome in front of us.
Very Challengin
Nice course, several blind shots
Local knowledge of hole directions would be big benefit. Will definitely play again on next trip.
Great Value
Good challenge but very playable for high handicap players. Undulating greens which are in good shape. 4 1/2 hour round for a threesome was a little slow. Like most public courses, nobody fixes their ball mark on the greens.
Emerald a winner
Liked Emerald very much. Lots of fun holes and tough ones from the back tees
Great and different links layout, very good cost
GREAT course. There were some holes I've never seen before, several blind shots. ..greens were excellent. Rolling around 9. The only real downside is the ranger who follows you on most holes and is not very nice. I brought a 4 some there a few weeks back and we are around 10-12 HC and finished in 4hrs 15min, and he still warned us to move along or he would make us skip a hole. I like to play fast and never accused of slow play, so I would be reluctant to bring a 4 some there again.
Fun Course
Fun course, every hole has its own personality. Love to play here.
fun experienceb
interesting course. paired up with 2 great women who knew the course and were very helpful. Will play again.
Fourth of July Weekend
Extremely rude staff. Pace of play target as told to us by the starter was 4:15. Continuously hassled by the ranger that our pace was too slow. We began playing a scramble format to help appease the ranger then we ran into the group ahead of us. Stopped after nearly every par three to tell us to hurry up or skip a hole. Ended up finishing at 4:20 hrs even after being hassled by the ranger constantly. Not worth the $76/per. Would have rather played at $125+/per and not been rushed. Overall terrible experience and I would never go back.
Good price, nice course
Short course from the White tees, but enjoyable. Greens run really good. Great deal for the money.
Great course, fun time!
I must say this was one of the better courses I've ever played on and the price was right at $26/person with cart (GPS guide to each hole) for 18 quality holes! It took a bit of time to play but we were in no rush. Just enjoying the day and playing some GOLF! I would definitely play there again if I'm ever in AC again NOT to gamble LOL!
Great Day
My wife and I wanted to play a round while we were away. The course was beautiful it was in excellent shape.we had a great day.
The "Dump"
My friends always referred to this course as "The Dump" so I took it as a sign to never play here. Once I realized that nickname was only derivative of what the course was built on, THEN I saw a $26 tee-time, I had to play. The course is fun and challenging. Very characteristic of the Irish and Scottish courses from across the pond. Some holes you literally couldn't see the fairways, greens, or hazards you were hitting to. No matter, it's a fun track with challenges and rewards that make it a great day out with some friends.
Saturday Golf....VERY SLOW
Beware playing this course on a Satuday. Our tee time was 9:45 am, and while we started on time, we ended just short of 2:45. VERY slow, and never got into any "pace" of play
