McCullough's Emerald Golf Links
About
The golf course at McCullough's Emerald Golf Links is an 18-hole, public course that is situated within minutes of Atlantic City. Designer, Stephen Kay decided to pay tribute to famous European golf courses such as St. Andrew's in his design. The European influences are reflected in the open fairways, tricky strong winds, and undulating greens. The golf course also boasts the region's only 100-feet elevation changes.
McCullough's Emerald Golf Links' signature hole is the seventh; it is also the course's most unique. The hole features hazards like large bunkers and wide, rolling fairways. Water hazards also come into play on five holes. The acclaimed golf course is challenging but it does provide a truly unique golfing experience.

A nice course that I like to play when i'm in the area
Overall, a nice course with some challenging holes. Look for discount coupons if possible as the standard rate is a bit higher than it should be.
Fun, unique course
I enjoyed this course and would play again...however I wish they had done more to improve the pace of play...the foursome in front of mine fell behind from the 2nd hole and even though I saw a few course marshals they never said a word to this group, which I know because we literally stood on the tee or in the FW and watched said group hit every one of their horrible shots...There are also many blind approach shots which made things a bit difficult if you haven't played the course before...that being said the greens and fairways were in good condition despite the summer heat and the unique layout was a lot of fun.
WOW
Wow what a course! First time I played it and was thoroughly impressed. Pace of play was great because there weren't many people out on a Sunday afternoon. The only thing that slowed our group was trying to locate golf balls in the fescue and blind areas. Great links style course. The architects influence on the holes was really cool too. The course wasn't too contrived either. The subtleties in the design really made us enjoy the course and enjoy the game of golf. Can't wait to go back and highly recommend it. Only negative was the greens being a little slow. The greens are undulating and I can understand why the staff keep them a little slower. They roll true and smooth but they're not lightening.
Nice layout
Course has a nice variety of holes. Greens, fairways & tee boxes are in good shape. Rough is not high, but is very thick.
the course has great elevation changes which makes for more fun
Overall the course was in magnificent condition. Bunkers were clean and well raked. I was in a twosome behind a very slow foursome but it wasn't long before the ranger noticed it and let us play through.
This course is like no other in south Jersey. The elevated tees are spectacular, the greens are great, and the overall layout makes it a fun course
I have played this course several times in the past and have never been disapointed. For an average golfer like myself Its tough to score well because there are so many challenging holes, but they are fun to play so no matter what your score. Overall you will l have a good golfing experience. I particulary like the tees that are elevated 30 feet higher or more from the fairways. The views of the course from these elevated tees is awsome and very unusual in south jersey which is typically flat land slightly above sea level.
TOO MANY BLIND SHOTS
If you're playing this course for the first time beware -- many difficult blind shots. It's a course that requires on-course experience.
Fun course at a fair price
Course was in better than average condition. Greens were a bit inconsistent and seemed like they were not rolled recently. Play was a bit slow but course was very busy. I will play there again.
Very nice course.
The course was in Great shape. Good course, enjoyed playing.
This was the fourth time I've golfed here and the course was in the best shape of any times I've been there.
The only two negatives were the pace of play which could have been improved with a ranger and the bunkers appeared to get very little attention
great condition, very challenging.
Great condition, very challenging. Staff is very friendly. After round Grill room has many choices. As well their menu has many choices. The burger is excellent. Would recommend to everyone. Only downfall is that there is no driving range to warm up before round. However, would highly recommend for play...
Great course
If you are a fan of Irish link style courses like I am you will enjoy this course. When the wind blows and it almost always does on this course it is very challenging. This course has some very tough par 3's which I enjoy the staff was very nice.
great value for early spring
the course was in great shape considering it was early spring
Course is very challenging.
Played McCullough's Emerald Green Course on Wednesday
April 10th. For this early in the year, I thought the course was
in excellent condition. The greens were just aerated but putted
true. The layout is very unique with each hole \\resembling a
famous hole in Ireland & Scotland. There are literally no two
holes alike. The only complaint I had was that on such a hot
day there was no drinking water, nor beverage cart to be found.
Will definitely play it again. Tony C.
Old school Scottish Links with elevation
Tees, fairways, and greens are maintained well. Only complaint is that there are many blind tee shots and with the high grasses along the fairways you can hit a great drive but if its 1 foot off the fairway you wont find it. Bring alot of balls. That said, after playing the course a couple of times, if you alter your club selection for ceratin holes your score should come down, first time is tough.
True Links Course
I play this course about once a month. It is very busy in the summer but, off season is the best time to play it. The course is maintained all year long and is a true links style course. It has some really cool holes. Some blind tee shots and alot of elevation changes. Very cool course would recommend to everybody.
good course with some unique holes
interesting layout on an old landfill. the holes were patterned after holes in ireland and scotland. the course is challenging and yet very playable and fun. definitely worth playing
Well maintained and a great value.
I booked a hot deal for a warm(for december) morning for under 20 dollars. After speaking to the friendly pro shop keeper, I went out and played a round at a leisurely pace. I started on 9 and never even saw a group within a hole of me. The ground was soggy due to recent rains, but the fairways and greens where in great shape. I would remend the course to anyone. It's recreations of famous holes in the British Isles is an interesting idea.
Greens are always in top form, usually fast
love the elevation change , challenging greens, and over all layout of the course
good all around facility...very underrated
Have played here many times..Fun links style golf on a well maintained course. Not as many frills as its neighbors Twisted Dune and Harbor Pines but well worth going here.. Some nice elevation changes and some good par 5's.. Keep your ball out of the high fescue here.. The 10th hole a long curving dogleg left par 4 will be your hardest hole on the course..
