McCullough's Emerald Golf Links
About
The golf course at McCullough's Emerald Golf Links is an 18-hole, public course that is situated within minutes of Atlantic City. Designer, Stephen Kay decided to pay tribute to famous European golf courses such as St. Andrew's in his design. The European influences are reflected in the open fairways, tricky strong winds, and undulating greens. The golf course also boasts the region's only 100-feet elevation changes.
McCullough's Emerald Golf Links' signature hole is the seventh; it is also the course's most unique. The hole features hazards like large bunkers and wide, rolling fairways. Water hazards also come into play on five holes. The acclaimed golf course is challenging but it does provide a truly unique golfing experience.

confusing
greens were very good for this time of year(early april) you really need to play this course a few times as some of the holes were hard to see where to hit your t shot. several of the par 4's were 430 yards and with any wind at all they were beasts but you always get to choose which t boxes to use. overall it was fun with some really dramatic elevation changes.
birdie parr
Great links course, greens are fast even on a soggy course. Would really love it when weather is better, snow melt let it water logged and doesn't drain well. This foursome will be back soon
worth the trip
No food or coffee in the restaurant during the winter - course in good condition for as cold as it was - a lot of frost the day we played but didnt mind the delay even tho we travelled 2 1/2 hours to get there - overall... it was worth the trip
The course has great
I like the course setup , the staff were very friendly & I would recommend a friend to play the course.
Great links style course
First time players should get the detailed yardage book. Several blind shots. Course is in great shape for any time of the year - played second weekend in November. Yardage markers are plentiful and accurate. Course well maintained and staff very friendly. Several sets of tees, so any skill level can play and have a good time.Very scenic. Had a great time and will go back for future rounds.
Great day on the links
I play this course with my son about 2 or 3 times each year. I must say, it was in the best shape I have ever seen it. I see some renovations taking place on 15 and 16 which were needed too.
OVERBOOKED ,SLOW 3.5 HRS TO PLAY 6 HOLES !
IT TOOK US 3.5 HOURS TO PLAY 6 HOLES .THEY OVER BOOKED .RANGERS WERE AROUND BUT SAID NOTHING.IT WAS SO SLOW WE LEFT AFTER NINE AS DID THE TWO WE WERE PLAYING WITH.
Course is in wonderful shape. Very nice experience.
Course in excellent shape. Challenging and fun. Particularly found the hole with the cell tower to be most memorable.
Tough Course
Definitely a Links course, tough layout, hard to see where your ball lands so you lose a lot. My biggest complaint is the beer cart girl ignored us so we never got a chance to enjoy a beverage.
Fun course, friendly staff, pace of play a little slow.
Nice fun course, maintained conditions. Each hole is different making it a course where you have to play smart to score well.
Staff is super friendly but pace of play is a little on the slow side as people lose balls in the fescue. Overall a great value for the money with GolfNow rates. Will play again.
A true links course
Having never played a links course, I didn't know what to expect. I was a single and was joined by 2 brothers, who also never played this course. This, of course, added to the challenge because with the changes in elevation and open layout, it was tough to see just where the green was. In fact, I hit to the wrong fairway on one hole. There are mounds and bunkers all over, along with dense rough.
The greens were for the most part in great condition and fast with much undulation. There were a couple that needed attention. The tee boxes were inconsistent, some were in great shape while others had many weeds.
The staff could not have been more friendly and courteous. It felt like a private club.
I will likely play this course again, despite not being close to where I live.
Very frustrated
Love the course! But there needs to be some notification to other golfers when they have a bus load of people there for an outing!! It took my group of 4 almost 4 hours just to play 9 holes!!!! The only thing that saved my round was our decision to replay the front 9 so that we could actually get 18 holes in!! Very disappointed!!
Poorly managed golf course
Played the golf course on Sept 14, the first 9 holes took 3 hours and ten minutes. Our group of four vowed never to return. Management clearly overbooked the course and the experience was awful. There was no attempt on management to move play along, the foursome in front of our four had two players that consistently could not get off the tee cleanly yet waited until the foursome in front of them was on the green until teeing off. When one of our foursome tried to flag down the marshal he put up his hands and said we are all backed up. No kidding. We all gave up and left without completing the round. When we mentioned it to other employees at the course they just shrugged and admitted it was taking six hours to get through the course because of a group outing on the course. This is what causes people to give up golf. I choose just to give up on this course.
Two club wind made for some challenging holes!
Pace of play was great considering wind conditions. Tee boxes on most holes were beat up. Greens were not bad, would be even better if players would take time to fix a ball mark or two.
nice and green
a nice afternoon....great staff unfortunately a few groups ahead were enjoying weather too much and slowed it down
Great course for the price
Found course has a great lay out and some holes very challenging, will play this course again.
Better than we expected
We were pleasantly surprised with the uniqueness of the course. Every hole was very different and we welcomed the suprises as we played the course. Jim in the Pro Shop was exceptionally helpful.
Unique Course
I have played there many times over the years, and have always enjoyed the play. Each hole is modeled after particular holes in Europe. Many holes are memorable, and always fun. Course is well maintained considering it sits on top of the municipal dump.
A fun day of golf
Course was in good shape, greens were in great condition. A fun link course and some very challenging holes. Staff was friendly and we all had a good experience. This was my second time playing and would return.
The information about holes is lacking
For a public course in season it was in pretty good condition overall. What is lacking for the first time players to the course was information about the holes at the tee box. With quite a few 'blind' shots you were left out to dry as to how to play the hole. That often left you in bad positions (or OB) for your second. Since none of us are on TV on Sundays this can be quite frustrating for a public venue.
