Wildcat Golf Club - The Highlands
About
The Highlands Course is probably the more stimulating of the two tracks at Wildcat GC, offering better views of the city, natural wetlands and grasses, and some intriguing flat sand bunkers. Case must have an affinity for the No. 7, because like the Lakes track, the 421-yard, par 4 hole 7 is the most difficult rated hole. Watch out for the par 5s on this one, three of which play at or above 570 yards from the tips.
Getting there : From downtown take Hwy. 288 south for 5 miles to Loop 610. Head west and find the Fannin exit, where you'll U-turn under 610 and drive east on the access road to Almeda Rd. Turn right on Almeda and the course is 3 miles further.

Favorite course in Houston area
Greens are fast and consistent. My favorite thing about the course is it’s not the cheapest place to play. Drunken hacker will probably have a better time losing their balls at a cheaper course with all the other slow players so they don’t feel pressure. Given there’s actually 2 courses here on top of that, the players are spread out pretty well and the pace is amazing. Pace...my favorite thing about this course. Wait, that’s second to their fairways and greens. Well kept and very nice.
Good course.
Need to add a couple of informational yardage signs on a few tee boxes where holes have run offs into unplayable areas.
Fun and challenging
Hilly course for Texas. Fast greens, open fairways and fun play.
Great day at Highlands! Course was in great shape. Had lunch an beers after the game which made it perfect. The only issue was people going off number 10 which slowed down the golfers on front and making turn which needs to be Marshalled
Great Day, great round!!!
Our only complaint is we saw a beer cart but were never approached or asked if we needed anything.
Great!!
Everything perfect except sand. Sand trap need work due to heavy rain but should be back soon.
Greens are the best-fast (11+)
Always a blast
great course, greens ran fast & I love the challenging elevation of the Highlands course!
Great
I have been blessed to have played there since they opened. The course was created on top of an old landfill. There are certain holes that challenge a player to carry over environmental preserved areas. You must select the right tees for your game or lose a lot of golf balls. They keep the course in excellent condition year round and the Grill serves delicious food. The practice facility is also a great place to sharpen your game. The staff in the Pro shop and Grill could not be nicer. Enjoy a fine public golf course that is an easy drive.
Superb Again
It is the 4th time we bring out the company golf society group (16 players) to Wildcat and this time played Highlands - yet again everything from the booking until we left was awesome and really fantastic; course is in great shape and the greens are super - and Nick and the team are true professionals and very helpful; amazing experience, thanks Nick and will see you soon again. Gert
Gem
This is by far the nicest public course in the Houston area. So different than your typical courses because of all the elevation changes. Both the lakes and the highlands are always well kept and the greens are always rolling true. Can’t wait to schedule another round!
