Wildcat Golf Club - The Highlands
About
The Highlands Course is probably the more stimulating of the two tracks at Wildcat GC, offering better views of the city, natural wetlands and grasses, and some intriguing flat sand bunkers. Case must have an affinity for the No. 7, because like the Lakes track, the 421-yard, par 4 hole 7 is the most difficult rated hole. Watch out for the par 5s on this one, three of which play at or above 570 yards from the tips.
Getting there : From downtown take Hwy. 288 south for 5 miles to Loop 610. Head west and find the Fannin exit, where you'll U-turn under 610 and drive east on the access road to Almeda Rd. Turn right on Almeda and the course is 3 miles further.

Fantastic shape, challenging
Tough but fair. Extremely well kept! I'd go again in a heartbeat!
love this course
Really enjoyed or round of golf. Staff is grade A. I'm telling everyone that know about this course. The rate on golf Now was great.
Play at Golf Club of Houston for the same price!
I read that this was a very nice course but was very disappointed when I played it. The course was in fair condition. fairways were dead (it was winter). staff was very rude except for starter.
great view of Houston
I loved the elevation changes and also the links style feel. Great course. I didnt like the pea gravel under the sand. Maybe its there to help with drainage which in that case I guess its great. Just didnt want to hit my new wedge out of rocks. Overall...im looking into becoming a member. Cold and wet the day I went but I had a blast!
Love This Golf Course
Played the Highlands - it had rained the day/night before so it was cart path only but still played in less than 5 hours on a Sunday morning. Course was in great shape, there was some standing water but the course was in no way soggy. The greens were nearly perfect and rolled fast and true. The wind was blowing so it played pretty tough but as a links style course that's expected. Booked my round for $45 on Golfnow - you'd be hard pressed to find a better value out there.
By the way, the view of NRG Stadium and downtown Houston is great from the high parts of the course.
Great layout, poor conditions
This course is one of my favorites but I'm afraid they are letting it run down. When I arrived, I was told I couldn't hit a warm up bucket as "the machine was down". Couldn't they just give me a bucket anyway? I mean, aren't their in fact plenty of range balls and baskets to put them in? Secondly, their was pea gravel in several of the bunker hazards. Who wants to hit their nice irons out on rocks? Not this guy. I admit, I will pull my ball from the bunker on occasion but pea gravel, really? I don't get it...
Didn't hit a single tree
I live 8 hrs from this course and this was my 2nd visit to the Wildcat golf course. Played the Highlands both times. The golf experience starts when you drive up to the front door. Someone to welcome you and assit with the clubs. The Pro Shop, Restarant/Bar area, driving range and the golf round starter all very nice.
The course is a very nice play ground for all levels of golfers. Excellent tee boxes, fairways, hazards and greens.
Anytime we go to south Houston for football games at Reliant Stadium or anything else we will stay at the Pearland Town center and golf at Wildcat Golf Club.

Fun course while visiting family!
It was wet and cold and pretty ugly out there, but the Highlands were a lot of fun and I will play this course again when I return
Wow!
Have played the course several times but this time -WOW! Had the best time ever! Beautifull views, greens were rolling pure, and the was treated excellent at the 19th hole by the General Mgr. Tim and the Teaching Pro Tom, who struck up a conversation out of the blue. I have to go back soon! Course and greens are in super shape. Ball sits up nicely on the grass, even in the rough...Something magical about this course!
will come back again
very nice course, good pace of play, shouldtry when you can....
Nice course
Greens were in good condition as well as the fairways.
Tough course!!
Good fast greens tough pin placements. Good course for $60.
nice course, many blind shots
Course was in nice shape. Challenging terrain with good views. Had a few blind shots. Weather was cold and windy and it was cart path only. I purchased the round a few days earlier otherwise I probably wouldn't have played. But I had the course to myself so I played fast. Staff was friendly.I'll come back on a nicer day.
Best Links Style in SE Texas
After playing in Europe on a true links course it was a great pleasure to play here in SE Texas a great representation of a true links course. Think twice about teeing off with the driver on every hole.
Great views and fun course
I thought the course was in great shape and everything met expectations. Wonderful views of the city!
Wildcat at the Lake
Always a great course from tees to green. Play got a little slow on the back nine.
Great Course
I've now played both the Lakes and the Highlands and I love both courses. Perfectly maintained with incredible greens and above average difficulty. I used a GolfNow special and was able to play for ~$45 taxes and fees included on a Sunday afternoon. Amazing value for the quality of the course.
Greens are true
I found a Sunday afternoon tee time for $31. Just can't beat that. The course was in good shape but nothing I would rave about. Playing the course for the first time was difficult because of so many blind shots. The greens had minor weed issues but rolled very true. Almost nobody on the course so play was very fast.
Great course - nice views
the course is in very good condition - greens roll true and fairly fast - lots of undulations on the greens. Fairways were in very good condition - tee boxes in fair-good condition. Weather was outstanding - and pace was reasonable for a Sunday afternoon.
