Wildcat Golf Club - The Highlands
About
The Highlands Course is probably the more stimulating of the two tracks at Wildcat GC, offering better views of the city, natural wetlands and grasses, and some intriguing flat sand bunkers. Case must have an affinity for the No. 7, because like the Lakes track, the 421-yard, par 4 hole 7 is the most difficult rated hole. Watch out for the par 5s on this one, three of which play at or above 570 yards from the tips.
Getting there : From downtown take Hwy. 288 south for 5 miles to Loop 610. Head west and find the Fannin exit, where you'll U-turn under 610 and drive east on the access road to Almeda Rd. Turn right on Almeda and the course is 3 miles further.

Great course
This is a very under appreciated course. I liked it so much the first time I played that I went back the next day. Highly recommended.
Great view of Houston skyline
I have played here several times and always enjoy the views, the layout and the staff.
The clubhouse bar is a good place to have an after round beer.
Houston Paradise
I had put off many times playing this course. Shame on me, it is in great shape and the scenery is breath taking.
The Greens were in very good shape...
Pace of play was somewhat slow but it was a Holiday.. This course was fun to play and somewhat difficult as it was the first time I played it... Now I know where the Pins are ...!!!! I just love this Course.
wildcat lakes
It was a good test of golf and the greens were in pretty good shape.
Challenging but fair
Course has interesting holes and range in design - never feel like you're playing the same hole. You can spray your drive on some holes but end up in the hazard on others. 7, 8 & 9 are tough finishing holes on front 9. Everything was in great shape except the sand.
Sweet
The fairways and greens were in great shape. Played on a hot Friday afternoon, was paired up with 3 others. Pace of play was very good for a Friday. A few blind shots, and a lot of elevation changes. Will be coming back here to play again.
Don't sleep on The Lakes
A lot of golfers seem to be enamored wth The Highlands but The Lakes is every bit as good. I was very surprised that, this late in summer, the entire course is as green as I've ever seen. The greens are deceptively quick, our 7:45 foursome never had to wait or adjust pace of play, and the group behind us was at least one hole behind for the entire round. This was the first round on this 18 for one friend in our group and he loved the elevation changes, the course layout, and the character of several of the holes on The Lakes.
* there are tiny ants in full bloom throughout the course but they are not aggressive, just be aware.
Lakes coarse can be tough for first timers
Several blind shots and odd fairway designs but manageable if you know where to hit to. Fun coarse would play it again , Putting was true even though the greens had been sanded.
Wildcat
Best course I ever played in Houston !!! Fairways and greens were excellent !! I will definitely go back ! Made an eagle ! So it was an exciting moment !!!
Challending but too many blind shots
Wildcat is a convenient 36 hole complex less than 3 miles form I-610 south loop with views of the Houston skyline that can't be matched. It's architecture of being built on a former landfill and oil & gas property make it unique. It has a lot of rollign hills that make you thunk you are in the mountains but to many holes have blind or partial blind shots to fairways.
The course's fairways and rough were in excellent condition but the greens were still somewhat slow & bumpy from aerification 3+ weeks ago. Considering what the green fee rates are they should provide GPS on carts to assist with course management and speed up play.
Although there was a marshal around the course they should not have let a twosome off before us since we had a tee time and they did not and especially on a Saturday morning!
Great test for golf game
The greens were aerated and grainy. So it was tough to putt. But the rest of the course was in good condition. The marshal was a bit annoying but he was doing his job. He shouldn't mention anything to a group when the group behind them is 2 holes back. Just saying...
Wildcat sands
Course was in good shape, greens were recently sanded and were slowwwwww. I picked this course because the greens are usually lightning, i understand it is needed. I will play this course again
sandy greens
The greens were sandy, but the overall course, staff and food was excellent. I recommend the lakes and highlands courses to all skill levels.
Really slow
The course was in great shape. The only draw back is the pace of play. Took over 5 hours to complete the round.
Lakes
We played after a night and morning of rain, but the course was still in great shape.
Wildcat Golf Club - Lakes
Fantastic course with challenges that put your skills to the test. Great views of the city!!!
Lakes
Only objections to this course is the number of blind shots.
Want a play more at here.
Some challenge course make me feel good to play.
Greens are good.
Best Conditin in town!
You feel like a professional golfer at the Wildcat! It is challenging but great!
