About
Architect Roy Case created both courses on this new 36-hole, daily-fee facility that is located only 10 minutes from downtown Houston. In addition to the views of the skyline, Case had at his disposal a touch of Hill Country terrain with dramatic elevation changes, as well as the typical Houston- area prairie lands. From this he was able to carve the links-style Highlands Course and the more traditional Lakes Course.
As its name implies, the Lakes Course, which tips out at a par 72 7,016 yards, is loaded with water. The best hole is the 539-yard No. 7, which is listed as the number one handicap. Interestingly, the four easiest holes are the par 3s, which range from 165 to 218 yards.

Playable after rsin
To bad rain just before tee time. Course played long but still very playable even after rain. Two very different course -try both!!!!
A great afternoon
The weather helped but I do really enjoy this course. The course challenges you in different ways, you have to think about your choice of club instead of automatically reaching for the driver off every tee. The greens were in good shape (except a brown/bare patch on one of the back nine). The pace of play was great, we never quite caught up to the group in front and always had a hole between us and the group behind. If you play golf in Houston and haven’t played Wildcat Lakes yet then you should.

Nice course, very difficult with all the hills and blind tee shots. Actually felt like I got beat up by a golf course lol.

Rude Patron and Staff
A guy/patron from the group behind us drove up to us to told us to stay off the green with a rather rude manner. Apparently he thinks he saw us from 100+ yards and assumed we were driving on the green. After the game, I went to the patron to explain the situation and he wouldn't listen to our explanation that we did not drive and close to the green. We had to look for a ball and was driving around the green in the rough to match the pace of the game. When I tried to speak with him, he took us to the clubhouse and the clubhouse staffs wouldn't listen to us and assumed that we were too close to the green. We tried to explain we took pride in the cours and the game and were not even close to the green but in the roughs.
We did not appreciate and anticipate that the staffs without confirming and took a side without present any evidence.
Thank you for the feedback. One of our members informed us that your group was driving too close to the greens as well as driving across the bridge on #12 where a sign clearly states "No Carts Beyond This Point". The bridge is not made for carts to drive across, and we have that sign in place everyone's safety as well as keeping carts away from the green. We do ask that all golfers abide by the cart signs keeping carts away from the collars and greens. Thank you.

Best elevated & scenic course in Htown
Love Wildcat Lakes. Tough course with the various elevations, some hitting into blind shots uphill (hole #1) and lots of water hazards from hole 7 to 12. Greens & fairway are kept in great conditions.

Good Timing
My timing was perfect. First off so pace of play was best ever and when the horn blew due to lightening I was on 18th green. The 2 courses at Wildcat are about as different as you can get. The 1st few holes on the Lakes are somewhat the same as the Highlands (open links style) but after that there is water everywhere and it become target golf. Because of the elevation changes club selection really comes into play. Course is always in great condition. Staff has always been great from the guys offering rides from the parking, lot to the starters providing tips, to the greens keepers giving a thumbs up for a good shot. Wildcat continues to be my favorite facility in Houston.

Great layout but just punched the greens
Really good layout. Pace of play can get bad depending on the group your playing behind especially before 12. They did just punch the greens though. When this course is in good condition though it’s probably the best in the Houston area for the price
