About
Architect Roy Case created both courses on this new 36-hole, daily-fee facility that is located only 10 minutes from downtown Houston. In addition to the views of the skyline, Case had at his disposal a touch of Hill Country terrain with dramatic elevation changes, as well as the typical Houston- area prairie lands. From this he was able to carve the links-style Highlands Course and the more traditional Lakes Course.
As its name implies, the Lakes Course, which tips out at a par 72 7,016 yards, is loaded with water. The best hole is the 539-yard No. 7, which is listed as the number one handicap. Interestingly, the four easiest holes are the par 3s, which range from 165 to 218 yards.

Friendly staff and rangers
Played the lakes. Course was very windy when I played, still had a blast with 3 buddies. Greens were deceptive. Great staff and good pro shop. I am looking forward to coming back and try out the food at the Vista Grill.

Nice Course, Feels like it's missing something
I played Blackhorse North this past weekend 1/23, booking a last minute tee time as a single. I've played the South Course before, and was aware of the high bar that it set for the course. I will say this wholeheartedly, the green fee is not worth the golf course. $120 for a Saturday morning with spotty fairways, slow greens, and stacked tee times just isn't worth it in my opinion. Pace of play was surprisingly good, finishing in 4 hours 10 minutes in a foursome with 4 carts. I'll go to High Meadow Ranch or Cypresswood Traditions before going back to Blackhorse.

Awesome layout
Greens were hard and fast, really tough pin placements. Few areas under repair but overall great condition for winter golf.

Good layout but needs a lot of work
They have lost the greens and grass is not great on the fairways. Not worth the money.
Thank you for the feedback. During this winter time the grass does look a little different compared to warmer temp periods, but rest assured we have not lost the greens. Nice layout
