About
Architect Roy Case created both courses on this new 36-hole, daily-fee facility that is located only 10 minutes from downtown Houston. In addition to the views of the skyline, Case had at his disposal a touch of Hill Country terrain with dramatic elevation changes, as well as the typical Houston- area prairie lands. From this he was able to carve the links-style Highlands Course and the more traditional Lakes Course.
As its name implies, the Lakes Course, which tips out at a par 72 7,016 yards, is loaded with water. The best hole is the 539-yard No. 7, which is listed as the number one handicap. Interestingly, the four easiest holes are the par 3s, which range from 165 to 218 yards.

Excellent course
Beautiful golf course. Greens in perfect condition. Rolled true and fast. Lots of different hole layouts and blind shots. Played in the morning in July 4th and played in just over 3 hours. Challenging course but gives you the ability to score well. Shot 77 and used every club in the bag. Definitely will be returning.

Groups are stacked!
Our group was on time, we get to #1 & grouos were backed up, the group behind us now had arrived to the tee box, no Marshall in site, we got rained out, so it was better than playing in the slow pace. We will return but on a weekday, not weekend.

Expectations Met
What a fun, challenging course. Awesome elevation changes. Unlike any other course I have played in Houston. I live out toward the woodlands so this was a venture for me but I am glad I made my way out. Tee box to green in great shape right now. They got me for $30 for a pack of pinnacle softs:/ but that’s my fault for not coming out prepared. Mats only on the range. Pace of play was a drag. Waiting 5-10 minutes or so on every box. Sometimes longer. Never saw a marshal pushing people along. I would definitely come back and recommend that anyone that hasn’t made the drive make it.

Best public course in Houston. The elevation changes make it very different from other local courses.

Review
Wildcat Lakes is an excellent value due to course conditions being very good. The greens were better than any I have played recently. Fairways well maintained and evenly cut. This is a top notch course and better than any I have played in the Houston area in the past year.

Great Outing
Course in great conditions. Greens and fairways excellent. Hazard/Water a little higher than normal due to previous rain so made the course even more challenging.

Has promise,too many hacks
Not the worst, but nowhere near the best. For the pace of play and poor bunkers, this should probably be a $35-$45/ round course. Don't pay anything more. Much better options.

Course is in great shape pace of play was good I’m just not a big fan of hitting blind shots especially on the Lakes ourse

Course was in excellent shape considering everything going on with the pandemic. Pace of play was steady. Greens are in fantastic shape. Challenging but fun course overall. I’ll definitely come back!

Same old...
Wildcat is a great option for the public and unique in how different it is by comparison to other Houston courses. But unfortunately charging $100 per round is outrageous. I would expect a championship level course and facilities for that money. It's nice... but it's not $100 nice.

great course
windy and cloudy day but very enjoyable. Greens were punched about on month ago and had signs of this and a little sandy top dressing but rolled well. Bunkers are considered ground under repair because of COVID19. Staff very friendly. Golf carts in excellent shape EZGO with USB ports!!!

Great Day at Wildcat
Upon arrival a masked gentleman in a multi-passenger cart asked if I wanted a ride to the club house and though I passes the service was noticed and appreciated. Social distancing signs were well displayed both outside and inside the pro shop. Had booked the Lakes course but asked the guy behind the desk if I could play the Highlands which he readily agreed to. Buy the time I reached the 1st tee the starter knew I was coming and greeted me by name and told me to have a great time. Course is always in great shape. The only issue was that since this Corona problem we are all facing began, all the courses I have played had some way of not letting the ball drop to the bottom of the cup. This was the case only on the 17th and 18th hole. Since I had only a few one putts, gave myself a lot of Gimme"s.
