Wildcat Golf Club - The Lakes

About
Architect Roy Case created both courses on this new 36-hole, daily-fee facility that is located only 10 minutes from downtown Houston. In addition to the views of the skyline, Case had at his disposal a touch of Hill Country terrain with dramatic elevation changes, as well as the typical Houston- area prairie lands. From this he was able to carve the links-style Highlands Course and the more traditional Lakes Course.
As its name implies, the Lakes Course, which tips out at a par 72 7,016 yards, is loaded with water. The best hole is the 539-yard No. 7, which is listed as the number one handicap. Interestingly, the four easiest holes are the par 3s, which range from 165 to 218 yards.

This course was an absolute blast
From pulling up to stepping out the car I knew we were gonna be in for a treat. Course was in great condition and greens were rolling pure, staff was friendly which I very much appreciated, nothing worst then going to a course where they ruin your round before u even start. Driving range could use a little work and that would be the only flaw I noticed. Other then that A1 course and will definitely be going back.
Great Course!!
Even though they just verticut the greens and it rained a ton that day. This course was still a blast to play. You will not have many flat lies. There’s tons of challenges from bunkers, to water, high grass areas. It’s all about placement here. Being a long ball hitter won’t help much if you can’t hit it straight. Will definitely return to play this course again. Staff was super friendly!!!
Epic H-Town Course - So Fun
So fun to play. It almost goes by too quickly. Very peaceful.
Fun challenge
Paired up with a very nice young man. He was very helpful due to my first time at this course. It was a challenge but also was awesome to play. I will come back
Lakes course was overall in really good condition. Greens were hard but grass was in pretty good condition and rolled smooth. Fairways were in good condition.
Always Solid
As the name suggests, Lakes has plenty of water which provides a challenge to an average (at best) golfer like myself. But the course is always in good shape and you always know what you're going to get at Wildcat. I will say that the pace on the front nine was perfect. Never ran into the group in front of us. Never saw the group behind us. And then something happened at the turn. We waited at the tee box on 10 for a good 10-15 minutes and then proceeded to wait on every hole except 18. I'm not reading too much into that, though. I'm sure I'll be back at some point.
Long Gone
Best course I’ve played so far being here in the Houston area. Course conditions were great. The greens or were the best I’ve played in Houston area. Played too far forward with a couple older gentlemen just to learn the course . 33 bucks definitely worth it .
Greens
Greens were a bit shaggy and slow. Below what I have come to expect from Wildcat.
Feels like a complete round of golf
Wildcat Lakes is a nice adventure. Water side and hill side, you’ll finish 18 feeling like you played 27.
