Seaview - The Pines Course
About
The lesser known of the two 18-hole courses at the Seaview is the Pines Course. It originally started as a nine-hole course but another nine-hole course was added later and the two courses were eventually combined to form the Pines Course. The course has a par of 71 and it is 6,731 yards from the back tees.
Seaview's Pine Course doesn't provide scenic views but it does offer a good game. Some even prefer the Pines course because of its quiet location behind the resort's hotel and also because of its more challenging features. The golf course has tight fairways lined with trees, medium-sized greens that are undulating, and strategically placed bunkers.

An osprey on the course Photo submitted by Joefie on 02/15/2013
Enjoyed the round very much except for the threesome behind us that kept on hitting their drives into us. .we let them play through on a par 4 and after that the course was much more fun to play.
Great, challenging course
Tight fairways, perfect greens, and challenging holes abound. Everything here from the staff to the course we're great, and we will definitely be playing here again.
old style course
Great old style golf course big trees and narrow fairway
Love to play this gem
I don't understand why the Pines course is the lesser of the 2 courses at Seaview. This course is more challenging, prettier, and more playable than its sister Bay Course. I love the layout and the greenhead flies aren't as bad as on the Bay. I try to play the Pines whenever I am in the area. A real treat!
Tight layout requires stricter maintenance
Course looks great from most tees. First time playing requires some research before teeing off, especially on the dog legs. Risk/Reward players should have a chance to understand the distances on the card before club selection. It’s ok to hit thru a blind dogleg, but the rough should be properly maintained to avoid wasted time searching for ball. Definitelya plus to have the pin placements identified in the car ts. The yardages were accurate but some of the forward tees weren’t fair from my observation. Staff was polite, practice facility was nice too. Par 3’s were set up ok, but well protected with sand bunkers to compensate. I would recommend playing but would suggest some local knowledge. Look forward to playing here again with some memory of those dogleg holes..
The course conditions were excellent!
Had my 1st chip in par at this course. Course is challanging. If you hit em straight this is the course for you.
Other than the pace of play, I don’t have any complaints. The course is great, and I enjoy the challenge of course layout.
Reliable Track
Course is friendly, challenging and in good condition. Unusually cool, windy day in June. No complaints about the course.
1st cut off fairway uncut for a week.
Fairways are narrow, but that has never been a problem in the past because the first cut off the fairways was wide and well groomed. Our round today was slow because it had been a week since mowing and our balls were difficult to find even though only a few inches off the fairway. Moreover, chipping on the sides of greens was also difficult and balls were hard to find within only inches of the green. We did have a wet week, but the course should have been mowed.
Good condition but needs some TLC
Staff very friendly and accommodating. The greens and fairways are in good conditions but the ruff and practice facilities need some attention. I played the Pines a couple years ago and had the same opinion. There are other choices in the AC area for the money are in better overall shape.
Perfect Course @ Jersey Shore
What a Great Course, have been playing it for 35 years and never gets Old. Always in top shape and greens always rolling at l]east a 10 on the Stimp....Perfect course @ The Jersey Shore....Thank You Seaview...
Great Day, Great Round
Got this on a hot deal and man was it worth it, especially in this hit or miss Northeastern spring. Weather was great, the course itself was well kept. There were a few bunkers under repair, so we made sure not to land in them! The greens were in great condition, a little aeration, but nothing to complain about this early in the season. Will definitely play this course again.
Play the pines
Wonderful old style open coarse. Tree lined. One of the finest in south jersey
Pretty good
It's a nice course. Well maintained and challenging. However our cart was awful, it was so slow and got even slower. On the 18th hole it wouldn't go up a hill so we had to push it, luckily it was mostly downhill and flat ground going back to the clubhouse. However, the starter was rude to us. When getting the bags out of the car, he asked what tee time we had, I told him and he goes "don't know anything about it" I told him that I had made it a couple days ago on golf now, and he treated me like I was stupid and made it at the wrong place or something. We parked and went in the pro shop, where they found our tee time no problem. When we went out to get the cart the starter goes "you were right you did have a tee time" as if I was the one who was confused. Then we (a twosome) caught up to a foursome playing very slow. They were super friendly and explained to us there was 2 more foursomes in front of them slowing things up. We skipped 2 holes to get in front of the foursomes, however we asked all of them if what we were doing was ok because we play quite fast. They all said no problem, but the foursome in front clearly had a problem with it as they started playing faster than any foursome I've ever seen so that they could keep up with us. They were picking up bad shots and just dropping in a good position so that they could keep pace with us. This coupled with the rude starter made for a pretty off putting experience. Not sure if we'll be back as there are courses just as nice with friendly people.
Solid layout
This is a solid but typical south jersey layout with the pines which give this course it's name. It has history which is cool. Dogleg holes play tough as it takes a really good shot to clear them so be careful what tees you decide to play from. You can't go by total yardage overall. For a fun casual round mix and match the tees on each hole for a hybrid course to fit your game. Except for am older couple in front of us who were on the slow side the pace was generally ok but four hours for twosomes is a bit long. There were no staff rangers or marshals out on the course.
