Seaview - The Pines Course
About
The lesser known of the two 18-hole courses at the Seaview is the Pines Course. It originally started as a nine-hole course but another nine-hole course was added later and the two courses were eventually combined to form the Pines Course. The course has a par of 71 and it is 6,731 yards from the back tees.
Seaview's Pine Course doesn't provide scenic views but it does offer a good game. Some even prefer the Pines course because of its quiet location behind the resort's hotel and also because of its more challenging features. The golf course has tight fairways lined with trees, medium-sized greens that are undulating, and strategically placed bunkers.

An osprey on the course Photo submitted by Joefie on 02/15/2013
This is normally one of my favorite courses
Played many times love this course; however, I was disappointed the last time I played (August 5, 2015) with the condition of the course. The tee-boxes were in terrible condition, fairways were burned out, and the greens were slow. I won't be back for awhile, hope that conditions improve. At this point, I wouldn't recommend playing here.
Seaview The Pines
This is a fantastic track- it is tight but fair need a strong to tee ball to attack this course. Lots of sand and bunkers well maintained. Check yardage blind shots and if off trouble is everywhere. Great value and much different than the Bay Course this is a stroll thru memory lane and days of Sam Snead at his best. A great example of S Jersey Pinelands. Rough is tough and thick but fairways are like carpet Enjoy
Nice to revisit the Pines
I have played the Pines course numerous times since the mid '70s. Back when it was a private course the conditioning was immaculate. I've played in the past when the conditions were bordering on lousy. The last few years it has been making a comeback. The most critical I can be of this current round is that the practice putting green was rolling much slower than out on the course. And unfortunately there was an outing (scramble) played earlier in the day which left many un-repaired divots, ball marks and unattended sand traps to be negotiated. Still, I'm happy to see the improvements of late and I'll definitely be back!
course was beat up
T boxes were in terrible shape, fairways were decent but in places patchy with no grass. Bunkers were hard and rocky, greens were ok, second cut of rough was unmanageable, overall not worth the 100$ green fee
Even better then the Bay Course
We have played the Bay Course several times in the past, but this is the first time that we played the Pines Course. The views may be better on the Bay Course but I think the tees and greens are far superior on the Pines. Will definitely play the Pines course again. The only complaint was that we booked a tee time for 8:40 but when we got to Seaview they had us down for 9 AM.
Great course, any level can play it!
The reviews scared me a little bit because experience golfers with low handicaps were calling this a difficult course. I didn't think that was the case at all. The fairways were wide enough, there wasn't a tremendous amount of traps and if you hit a good tee shot you always had a chance to hit it on or close to the green on your second or third shot. Now, if you are a slicer or you have a major hook then you will have a problem (but it has to be major!). The balls were easier to find in the woods than I expected and they were even easy to hit out. The only dislike was that the rough was, well, rough. Rougher than most courses I play. Really deep and almost necessary to hit a wedge out of. my recommendation is to layup vs. trying to be a hero and land it on the green. You will most likely be taking three or four whacks to get it out. Additionally, have a good crew with you to help you look for the ball as you will need it. Will definitely play this course again. Lastly, the course didn't play long at all!
Great course
The pines course at seaview is one of the must play courses in the south jersey area. Price was great.(thanks to my golfnow app) the pace of play was not my favorite tho. I have played here several times and and yesterday's round was on pace for about a 5 1/2 hr round. This not always the case and it will not keep me from coming back but I feel that should be an issue that needs to be addressed.
One of my favorite courses
The Pines of Seaview is a great course and is a must play. The conditions were excellent and the price awesome.
I will play this golf course over and over again!
For this time of the year this curse it in exelent condition, I can't wait to play it this summer. ..
challenging with the windy conditions
The course was in average shape - was expecting more. The price was high but the course was fun to play. The tree lines were full of leaves - so don't have any mis-hits or you can kiss your ball goodbye. Many - many sand traps.
Enjoyable round of golf on this pristine course
My friend and I played this course after not having played here for awhile....big mistake not to have played here sooner and more often. The course from greens to fairways was in excellent condition. The staff from the starter, cart persons, and rangers were very pleasant. We will definitely play this course more often. We thoroughly enjoyed our round. A must play for someone who has never played here before.
Pines Review
Pines Course was entertaining to play. Considered it a bit redundant with more than a handful of holes dogleg right. Greens were very healthy with true rolls, but somewhat furry. The rough was also healthy and punitive. Pace of play was brisk. I would recommend it as a solid course. reminded me of Saratoga State Park in Upstate NY.
CAN'T GO WRONG
I live local so my expectations are high. Point blank SEAVIEW ALWAYS DELIVERS...Best practice facility around. 2 courses ALWAYS IN GREAT SHAPE. Never have had a problem with pace of play. Treat yourself you wont be disappointed.
this course is very appealing.
Really good condition. Very playable. Fairways, greens and bunkers in very good condition. Only criticism I could find is the par 3 tee boxes were not level and abused.
Would recommend play to all.
Challenging but left something to be desired
This is the first time I've played the Pines course at Seaview. A few years ago I played the Bay and was so impressed by the fun yet fairly challenging design. I'll keep this brief the Pines course is challenging, there isn't a ton of room for error especially off the tee. If you miss it left or right be prepared to take a good long look for your rock because of the pine and scrub just off the fairway. Also if you haven't played the Pines before pay attention to the GPS on your cart even if you have a laser range finder. With so many doglegs knowing how short the corner is playing is vital. Staff was great and the range was nice. My biggest complain was the condition of the course. For me 100 out of pocket should get me a course that is manicured a little better. Greens and fairways were good but the bunkers were a mess and the rough was a mix of grasses some fluffy some nonexistent. Finally the day I played we were informed the course was path only, however upon playing there were very few soggy spots, most of which were near the greens where carts wouldn't be allowed anyway, this greatly hurt my experience consider where the path is and where you want to hit your shot for the best angles to the green or around the dogleg. I really wanted to give the Pines 3 stars but the track is a cool design, stay away from potential cart path days and leave the driver in the bag when you don't need it and you'll have a great time.
A great Jersey Pines course
This is the first time I have played this course. (I usually play the Bay course when in the area.) I was very pleased. I would bump this above BHP course. The fairways were wide but not much after that to the tree line. You can usually play out of the first 10 feet of trees. The greens rolled very true. No forced carries. Sand was a bit "stoney", but not too bad. They really control the pace here, so it was smooth. I will definitely play this one many more times.
Great Day on a great course
I shot my first ever hole in one on the par 3 12th 140 yd with an 8 iron, so this may be my favorite course ever....
Nice course
The Bay Course is more fun. For a parkland course, the Pines is good but not excellent. The back 9 is more interesting.
Great course
I played here several years ago and forgot what a gem this is. My oldest son and I played with a single, who was a great playing partner because he plays this course frequently.
We played off the back tees and the course was challenging but still fun...beautiful big greens, nice bunkering, and the last 4 holes are a real test.
