Spey Bay Golf Links and Hotel
About
This is a visually pleasing undulating links course with a long beach on one side. Measuring 6,219 yards from the tips, Spey Bay Golf Club is a par 70.
Gorse and heather line the fairways here, and the beach creates a natural border on some holes - though it won't come into play unless you're completely wild off the tee.
No. 8 is Spey Bay Golf Club's signature hole. The small green sits atop a hillock, so you better be accurate or risk seeing your ball go tumbling down. This pretty much goes for all the holes at Spey Bay, which requires a thoughtful shot off the tee and a light touch around the greens.

Great layout
Spey Bay has a stunning location by the Moray Firth and is a real traditional links test with undulating fairways. Off the beaten track but highly recommended.
Great day out
Had a smashing day out. Hired a buggy and would have hired the second had it been serviceable. Catering stayed back until 15:30 to accommodate our party. We were looked. After professionally in particular by Sally
Spey Bay a hidden gem.
Excellent hidden gem.. Excellent links course with undulating fairways with well kept greens. Played on a sunny wind free day an absolute pleasure to play.
Not long but you have to be accurate and stay out of the gorse. Well done to the green staff for the condition of the course. Excellent place for a round of holiday golf. Well worth a visit.
Fair test of links golf
Hospitable traditional classic links experience. Excellent value.
Nice little course
Greens were a little bumpy as it is still early in the season, however the rest of the course was fine. The staff were friendly and only too happy to help. Food was excellent although the menu was limited. Overall thoroughly enjoyed the day, which was even better as my partner and I won.
Real hidden gem
This is golf as it was supposed to be!
Don't think much will have changed at this course for decades.
Fantastic piece of ground for a golf course.
Loved it
Cracking course
Outstanding round of golf and what a glorious day for it staff where friendly
Enjoyable winter golf
Visited Spey Bay as it is a seaside course which meant that it is on summer greens when many inland courses are still on winter greens. Beautiful sunny day with little wind meant that the course was playing as easy as it can get. Greens in good condition for early March. The gorse has been cut back quite a bit which opens the fairways up and is less intimidating off the tee. An interesting and enjoyable course in reasonable nick, but probably could do with some investment to smarten it up a bit. Clubhouse open to the public, we had some issues with our breakfast order but food generally good.
Spey Bay
Well worth a visit. Beautiful views of the Moray firth. And enjoyable course. Will be back again.
Good
Tough to find tees when playing for the first time course was a little frozen which spoiled it a little (not there fault)
Great layout and a testing course for all abilities.
Greens are in fantastic condition, too.
No practice facilities to warm up prior to the round and an absence of signage from the road indicating the course location were the only issues on the day.
Enjoyable afternoon
The course is in decent condition and a real challenge for any standard of golfer. All the holes are interesting, none of the holes are easy. I played like a dog but with the fantastic weather, brilliant views and the interesting lay out I will definitely be back.
Fairways were tight but greens were true.
Definitely advise a visit.
