Tumwater Valley
Course was in excellent condition. Pace was very good.
The restaurant was open. Outdoor seating area well spaced. Good food. Refreshment truck.
Tumwater Valley
Course is in very good condition. Wear masks while in club house. Carts sanitized after each round. Mobile cart person available. Food and drinks available on outdoor patio.
Absolutely the Best
Why have I waited so long and wasted so much playing some of the other courses in the Southsound? Course conditions were absolutely awesome. Greens true and consistent throughout. Nice to get away from the city sounds and houses and enjoy the day. Sanitizing stations throughout the course, staff get friendly and helpful to newbys at the course. Top-notch practice areas where range balls starting at $4.00 for a small bucket of about 30 balls. Saw two deer and a few Hawks and eagles. Sorry Capitol City and Lakeland Village, I've got a new favorite course.
Tumwater Valley GC
First time playing the course. It was fun and can't wait to play again.
Tumwater Valley!
Everyone was friendly, and Thursday I played another local course, five hour round. When we teed off, it looked like another five hour plus round. They kept the pace of play moving and we were just under four hours!
Raaaay neeeeearrrr!! “It’s in the water”
Fairways were a little mushy in spots but greens rolled fast and true!
Got to witness a Hole in one by Donna on the back side. Way to go girl!!
Our score card on that hole read 1,2,3 and 4. :)
Will definitely come back.
Good Value
Fairly flat open layout. No houses and very pretty. Conditions are average for a muni. It WILL be wet in the winter. Very nice in the summer. Greens can get fast when dry. Practice facilities are top notch. HUGE all grass practice tee. Covered mats for winter. Large practice green and separate green for short game and bunker play. Yes a practice bunker. Nice restaurant. 20% discount for daily fee players. In the summer T-Time for weekend play. Weekday afternoons probably walk on.
Fun round...tad slow...
Wife had all day appointments near by...told me to go golfing so I went and check out Tumwater. Golfed with some great guys...one was a PLayers assistant. Fairways had a ton of crabgrass...on course OB on some holes was very annoying...and some of the pin placements were nonsensical...great round nice day...no true complaints
I really like this course
This is the closest 18 hole course to our house. Since picking the game up again I have been using their practice facilities a lot, they have a good driving range and I really like their practice greens, and I finally got out to play a full 18 hole round yesterday afternoon.
I went out as a single and was paired up with another single and a twosome, all of which were only playing 9 holes. I am not sure why but they had us start off on 10 and we played the back 9 first and IMO I think that this is how the course should be laid out, I thought that holes 1 through 9 are actually better holes than 10-18.
The course was in really good shape, but a few places marked and ground under repair, but the fairways were in good shape and the greens seemed to be in good shape, but to be honest, after many years of playing golf in Arizona I still haven't figured out how to put on the greens up here in Western Washington.
The pace of play started out good but after a few holes we were backed up on each hole. After the turn I was invited to play through 2 groups, as I was a single at this point, and joined a 3some for the last 3 holes.
I really like this course. When you haven't played any real golf in a number of years, and are just starting to get out regularly again, this course offers a good amount of challenge. Most holes are not friendly to a slice, and right now I am tending to slice to more than I would like, but it is motivation to correct that bad habit.
Very nice course!!!
We've played Tumwater before and didn't have a problem with the "pace of play" but this time it was right after the US Open and I guess everyone had to come out and play. We had a group of four in front of us and a single behind us and it bunched things up.
The staff is very friendly, IMO.
Great
The only thing was the sprinklers came on before we was finished and we had three more groups behined us
