Drumoig Golf Hotel sprawls across 250 acres of rolling countryside inhabited by a variety of different birds and wildlife. The dramatic landscape provides the course with plenty of loch-side fairways and quarry greens. The lochs come into play on three holes, most notably on the challenging par-3 ninth. The difficult tee shot is followed by a tricky shot over the loch in order to reach the green. More advanced golfers will find the back tees provide a good challenge while the front tees are better for beginners. Golfers will also enjoy the views that stretch past St. Andrews Bay and the River Tay to Dundee and Carnoustie. The par-5 fifth is the signature hole of the golf course. The hole, which often plays into prevailing wind, requires a strong drive and a long iron to reach the narrow opening to the green.

Parkland course

Nice layout with some interesting holes. Some greens in poor condition due to the excessive amount of rain recently but overall an enjoyable day out.

Very Disappointed

Very disappointed as we were travelling 70 miles to play. On the way down , I was called by the starter Craig and was advised that the weather conditions were making the course virtually impossible. He then went on to state that the greens were indeed holding water.

The purpose of the call was to advise us of the conditions so I then tried to cancel my booking through your website. However on attempting this , it was not permitted.

As we were only 20 miles away and there were 4 of us meeting up we carried on and had coffee and bacon rolls before heading home.

I am therefore formally requesting the credit of my fees because of the confusion over why I received a call telling me the course was unplayable yet they did not inform Golfnow of the conditions

I look forward to hearing from you

Fantastic course

Just the 2nd time I’ve played the course and 1st time for a while. Some of the greens a little sandy in places but other than that the course looks amazing. I’ll definitely be coming back and pretty soon.

Disappointed

Always enjoy the layout at Drumoig but course condition very scruffy and greens very poor. Condition of some greens disgraceful on a course where greens have been the highlight in the past. What has gone wrong?

Great layout

First time playing this course. Really enjoyed the layout of the course. Staff told us about the patches on a couple of the greens but other than that absolutely brilliant. Look forward to coming back at height of summer.

Greens are gone

We play Drumoig every year and have always looked forward to the standard set previously

Until the starter made us aware of temporary green at 7 and the greens need a bit of work ?

No mention of this at time of booking which is poor

To be honest the greens are not needing work they are needing taken up and relaid as they are so badly damaged

The water holes are still good fun and the course still looks well

It was a long drive that we could have avoided if made aware of the greens

Will give it a while before we return to let them get this sorted

Poor service

Great layout and great holes

This is a great course in terms of layout, but unfortunately greens really poor due to poor winter and they’ve not recovered, shame as I played it last year and was probably one of the best courses I’ve ever played. The water holes around the turn are outrageous, proper US pga feel to it, will defo be back hopefully the issues mentioned are fixed.

Needs work

Enjoyed some of the course architecture but generally let down by poor greens and some very bare lies elsewhere.

Almost Good

Greens were pretty badly damaged by frost and need attention. Other areas of the course also need some work. Some decent holes but overall not a course I’d rush back to play.

Great Layout and a stunning setting

Lovely course and layout. The greens are in a bit of a state just now but are clearly being worked on so won’t be too critical.

It’s a great track in a beautiful setting, first time playing but will look to return in the summer when the greens are back in shape and the remodelled 18th is finished.

Great course

An extra long course, it’s a good challenge for a mid-level golfer. Would suggest renting a buggie if the legs aren’t up to it!

A small note that the greens are a bit patchy in places after winter but it’s evident that the course is maintained to a high standard, so I’m sure this will be mended as spring takes hold.

The course is great!

Hopefully the work being done on the 18th is complete the next time I play here, and the club house and the food hut on the turn are open so I can get the full experience. I will definitely be back.

Can't judge amenities due to the pandemic.

Greens still had a bit of sand and weren't at their peak but I'm sure that will change in the next few weeks.

I would definitely recommend this course and I will be back.
