Drumoig Golf Hotel sprawls across 250 acres of rolling countryside inhabited by a variety of different birds and wildlife. The dramatic landscape provides the course with plenty of loch-side fairways and quarry greens. The lochs come into play on three holes, most notably on the challenging par-3 ninth. The difficult tee shot is followed by a tricky shot over the loch in order to reach the green. More advanced golfers will find the back tees provide a good challenge while the front tees are better for beginners. Golfers will also enjoy the views that stretch past St. Andrews Bay and the River Tay to Dundee and Carnoustie. The par-5 fifth is the signature hole of the golf course. The hole, which often plays into prevailing wind, requires a strong drive and a long iron to reach the narrow opening to the green.

Great course and value

Frosty start but cleared after 2 holes. Played off 18 summer greens and only 2 temporary tees due to summer tees being rebuilt. Course was in excellent condition and provided a good challenge. Staff were very welcoming and I would highly recommend it.

Best around for this time of year

A lot of rainfall with the storm but the course remained fairly dry.

Greens were excellent given the conditions & time of year.

The 2 bunkers I found myself in align with a couple my playing partner hit seemed very heavy with too much sand in them.

But that would be my only critique.

Will be back & would recommend.

A round at Drumoig

We have played course a few times now. Our own course was frosted over so we headed to Drumoig.

No winter greens, no fairway mats, tees had some mats that were great quality.

Weather was kind to us which was a bonus. Had a great game and we finished up with a halved game and lots of fun.

Greens were incredible for time of year they were true, good pace and were a joy!

Well done to the team from starter, greens staff and catering 👏

Amazing value.

Drumoig just can’t be beat for value and course condition. End of November and playing off the turf and the greens were still running true and smooth. You could pay double the price and it’s still a good deal. Great driving range on site for a warm up too. What’s not to like?

Hidden gem

Brilliant layout this course is and the greens are always immaculate. Fantastic features around the 9th, 10th and 11th holes around the Brilliant water features. You have to take in the views all around you from the 14th tee. And a agreat finishing hole. Bar and restaurant are great. Staff very friendly and polite. Everything is reasonably priced. I will be back soon. Drew Lumsden from St Andrews 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this round, the course was mainly dry with full greens in play and no mats. I’ve played Drumoig many time on each return something has changed. This time I discovered a completely different par 3 16th hole (Simply moved forward from the original) essentially plays the same as before but you can see the green now. The walk from 4 to 5 has been shortened slightly.

Drumoig is a big expansive layout with little rough so it’s a good course to get a bit of confidence tee to green. Negatives include the unattractive neighbouring pig farm plus some heavy construction work going on beside the 3rd green, 4th tee area. Bunker sand isn’t the best either.

With all that said it’s great to get what feels like a normal game of golf at this time of the year.

Drumoig golf course

Starter was a very pleasant lady .

The course is in very good condition

The greens were very good especially for the time of year . Still running fast .

Didn't really like tbe bell system for service in the clubhouse . Be a bit better just to have someone on tbe bar to take your orders etc .

I have played the course several times and is always good value for winter golf , no matts or winter greens .
