Drumoig Hotel Golf Resort
About
Drumoig Golf Hotel sprawls across 250 acres of rolling countryside inhabited by a variety of different birds and wildlife. The dramatic landscape provides the course with plenty of loch-side fairways and quarry greens. The lochs come into play on three holes, most notably on the challenging par-3 ninth. The difficult tee shot is followed by a tricky shot over the loch in order to reach the green. More advanced golfers will find the back tees provide a good challenge while the front tees are better for beginners. Golfers will also enjoy the views that stretch past St. Andrews Bay and the River Tay to Dundee and Carnoustie. The par-5 fifth is the signature hole of the golf course. The hole, which often plays into prevailing wind, requires a strong drive and a long iron to reach the narrow opening to the green.

Beautiful Green Photo submitted by t1196176880 on 04/29/2018
A great antidote to the mud and mats of my home course
I’ve played Drumoig on many occasions, it is an open expansive modern golf course providing the rare chance to play winter golf, with predominantly dry underfoot conditions, to real greens without fairway mats? I’d say on this occasion the greens were even a little better than previous visits.
Just a shame it’s over one hour’s drive away or I’d play it more often.
The course is continually changing (driven by the proximity of housing in most instances). I noticed that the par 5 third is in the process of being changed into a par four, I doubt it will be ready for play this year though.
Very slow play or too many players allowed on
I went on Sunday and don’t get me wrong the course is fantastic and in great condition.
Unfortunately the day was ruined by what seemed to be either slow play or an over crowded course.
Every tee box was a 10 minute wait or sometimes longer. There was even sometimes two groups waiting on the tee box which is not great really. We got to the turn after around 2 and a half hours and were greeted to once again 2 different grouoe waiting on the tee box so decided to just end the day there.
Overall the course is brilliant for this time of year and no mats or winter greens is great, even better when the greens were really good nice and fast. The day was ruined by the slowness.
Great condition for February
Excellent course conditions.
Greens were very good for the time of year. Very dry underfoot. Half a dozen tees were in mats but no fairway mats
Brilliant Course and Condition
This really is a great course.
Fantastic layout, with a mixture of long and short holes, and water which comes into play on 3 holes.
Considering it was winter, the fairways almost looked yellow and were firm to strike from almost links like.
The greens also were fantastic, probably as good as you would on other courses during summer. Again links like.
.
The cost was excellent.
Would recommend everyone play this course at least once.
Great course and value
Frosty start but cleared after 2 holes. Played off 18 summer greens and only 2 temporary tees due to summer tees being rebuilt. Course was in excellent condition and provided a good challenge. Staff were very welcoming and I would highly recommend it.
Rop class
Great layout with water around mid round. Greens were awesome for time of year. Playing off grass fairways too.
Best around for this time of year
A lot of rainfall with the storm but the course remained fairly dry.
Greens were excellent given the conditions & time of year.
The 2 bunkers I found myself in align with a couple my playing partner hit seemed very heavy with too much sand in them.
But that would be my only critique.
Will be back & would recommend.
Drumoig gc
Stunning layout and always in good condition with 9,10,11 being phenomenal holes in golf
Drumoig golf course
The course was a joy to play you wouldn’t have thought it was Xmas eve the course was bone dry greens were like summer greens , absolutely great course getting better and better
Great winter option
£23 a round hit deal well worth the money course wax in tremendous condition considering we are almost at the end of December, good to see winter work taking place which will only add to the experience
Definitely worth a game if you are in the area
Winter Golf round
Benign weather helped an enjoyable round
Greens in great condition for the time of year
Some work in progress but didn’t hold us back
Enjoyed the new 16th hole layout
Winter treat
Great day for golf in the middle of winter. Really interested in the upgrading of the course too. I'll be back!
Great course
Best part is at the turn
Around the pond
Also great finishing hole with plenty of water
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Can’t give it a 5 due to it being winter
But I’ll be playing it again
A round at Drumoig
We have played course a few times now. Our own course was frosted over so we headed to Drumoig.
No winter greens, no fairway mats, tees had some mats that were great quality.
Weather was kind to us which was a bonus. Had a great game and we finished up with a halved game and lots of fun.
Greens were incredible for time of year they were true, good pace and were a joy!
Well done to the team from starter, greens staff and catering 👏
Drumoig
Great course we will be back again soon. Spot on. 😊 thank you
Amazing value.
Drumoig just can’t be beat for value and course condition. End of November and playing off the turf and the greens were still running true and smooth. You could pay double the price and it’s still a good deal. Great driving range on site for a warm up too. What’s not to like?
Hidden gem
Brilliant layout this course is and the greens are always immaculate. Fantastic features around the 9th, 10th and 11th holes around the Brilliant water features. You have to take in the views all around you from the 14th tee. And a agreat finishing hole. Bar and restaurant are great. Staff very friendly and polite. Everything is reasonably priced. I will be back soon. Drew Lumsden from St Andrews 💙🏴
