Drumoig Golf Hotel sprawls across 250 acres of rolling countryside inhabited by a variety of different birds and wildlife. The dramatic landscape provides the course with plenty of loch-side fairways and quarry greens. The lochs come into play on three holes, most notably on the challenging par-3 ninth. The difficult tee shot is followed by a tricky shot over the loch in order to reach the green. More advanced golfers will find the back tees provide a good challenge while the front tees are better for beginners. Golfers will also enjoy the views that stretch past St. Andrews Bay and the River Tay to Dundee and Carnoustie. The par-5 fifth is the signature hole of the golf course. The hole, which often plays into prevailing wind, requires a strong drive and a long iron to reach the narrow opening to the green.

Good value for money

Good golf course, a few brilliant holes. Good value for money in the St Andrews area.

Long walk, would recommend a buggy if in 4 balls or not first round of the week!

So pleasantly surprised

We played here late afternoon in sunshine as our own

course closed due to Haar . What a lovely parkland course .

In good condition, interesting holes, very long par 5 s although

ladies tees get great benefit.

The water holes are very pretty and some stunning houses surround the course .

We liked it so much we played it again the next day .

Longish with 5 par fives … go

Longish course off standard tees , with 5 par 5s. Good variety of holes with some real tests. Played in very breezy conditions . Will give you a fair walking demand on undulating fairways. Reasonably tight lies on fairways and poorer quality of grass in places. General appearance of course would be improved with some bunker attention.

Cost of Sat round £50 which is definitely at upper limit for such a course. All in all enjoyed our round.

Great Layout

We have played Drumoig quite a bit over a period of about 25 years and we keep coming back because the layout is so good and the few tweeks they have made over the past 5 years have made it even better in my opinion. The greens were very good, excellent grass sward, true and pretty quick. Some of the bunkers are in need of a little TLC but overall I would thoroughly recommend the course.

Drumoig golf

We were running late so I rang to tell them the guy who answered was brilliant. We ended up being 30 minutes late and it was no problem. Great guy thank you. Thoroughly recommend this course.

Very enjoyable game of golf

This was a great course. Only thing that was wrong when we played, some of the course was burnt. The greens looked and played lush. Would definitely recommend and will be going back.

Watch out for the water!!

Good course, but a fair hike!!

First time playing Drumoig, and if they sorted out the bunkers I would definitely consider making it my local.

My playing partner was in a couple of the bunkers on front 9, as it was our first time playing, you can’t always see the sand traps. He’s normally pretty good at getting out of them but struggled. I didn’t land in one until 17th and didn’t need so much a bucket and spade when in there, as much as a tonne more sand!! The ground was solid and no way to take sand with the ball!!

Sort the sand out and it would be a very enjoyable scenic course to play. Greens in great nick and fast, fairways well maintained and looked stunning, all the way round.

Fantastic golf course. Would definitely go back. Some really signature holes with elevated tee and water either side. Real test of golf long from medal tee 6900 yards.

Great condition, friendly round

This course is in great condition. Firm but true. The course is relatively long and hilly (cart advised for those that are less energetic)

Fairways are wide and forgiving and the views spectacular. It’s one of those courses that is just very enjoyable to play.

There are a handful of very interesting features on the course and a few holes that force you to rethink whether trying to drive the green is a smart play, even though they’re easily drivable.

I’d 100% recommend a visit.

The only letdown is the lack of pro shop and the relatively basic facilities (provided by a hotel)

I’d come back again though.

Course that you can play every day

Excellent drainage means that the course never seems to be closed. The ‘new’ 7th and 12th’ improves the playing experience. Also the revamped 18th makes it a better finishing joke.
