Drumoig Golf Hotel sprawls across 250 acres of rolling countryside inhabited by a variety of different birds and wildlife. The dramatic landscape provides the course with plenty of loch-side fairways and quarry greens. The lochs come into play on three holes, most notably on the challenging par-3 ninth. The difficult tee shot is followed by a tricky shot over the loch in order to reach the green. More advanced golfers will find the back tees provide a good challenge while the front tees are better for beginners. Golfers will also enjoy the views that stretch past St. Andrews Bay and the River Tay to Dundee and Carnoustie. The par-5 fifth is the signature hole of the golf course. The hole, which often plays into prevailing wind, requires a strong drive and a long iron to reach the narrow opening to the green.

Absolutely cracking course, fantastic layout, with the heat and dry weather we have experienced lately, the course was obviously a little dry on the fairways. The greens were insublime condition. So well done to the green keepers for a amazing job keeping the course looking so great.

Just needed to play

Not to far out of st Andrew’s… friendly staff.

It’s in junction with a hotel.. so little difficulty finding where to go.

The starter said if he wasn’t there we we finished just leave the pull cart by the others… trusting soul…

At the turn no bathroom open had to walk back to the hotel to use the bathroom(wife). They won’t let beer out onto the course.

Course was dry, wide fairways greens were great. Couple blind shots…

Great course.

Really nice course in excellent condition. Greens and fairways well maintained. Long course with some challenging holes. 4 holes in and around the water are stunning.

Would highly recommend.

Guy in starter box was very friendly and spent time to give a quick run throw of the course.

An interesting course,well laid out.

Pace of play -pushed by two balls from behind , not very relaxing.Locker rooms & bar area were not very nice.

Paid more than we needed to -price was reduced if I'd booked closer to the date of play

A great antidote to the mud and mats of my home course

I’ve played Drumoig on many occasions, it is an open expansive modern golf course providing the rare chance to play winter golf, with predominantly dry underfoot conditions, to real greens without fairway mats? I’d say on this occasion the greens were even a little better than previous visits.

Just a shame it’s over one hour’s drive away or I’d play it more often.

The course is continually changing (driven by the proximity of housing in most instances). I noticed that the par 5 third is in the process of being changed into a par four, I doubt it will be ready for play this year though.

Very slow play or too many players allowed on

I went on Sunday and don’t get me wrong the course is fantastic and in great condition.

Unfortunately the day was ruined by what seemed to be either slow play or an over crowded course.

Every tee box was a 10 minute wait or sometimes longer. There was even sometimes two groups waiting on the tee box which is not great really. We got to the turn after around 2 and a half hours and were greeted to once again 2 different grouoe waiting on the tee box so decided to just end the day there.

Overall the course is brilliant for this time of year and no mats or winter greens is great, even better when the greens were really good nice and fast. The day was ruined by the slowness.

Great condition for February

Excellent course conditions.

Greens were very good for the time of year. Very dry underfoot. Half a dozen tees were in mats but no fairway mats

Brilliant Course and Condition

This really is a great course.

Fantastic layout, with a mixture of long and short holes, and water which comes into play on 3 holes.

Considering it was winter, the fairways almost looked yellow and were firm to strike from almost links like.

The greens also were fantastic, probably as good as you would on other courses during summer. Again links like.

.

The cost was excellent.

Would recommend everyone play this course at least once.

Great course and value

Frosty start but cleared after 2 holes. Played off 18 summer greens and only 2 temporary tees due to summer tees being rebuilt. Course was in excellent condition and provided a good challenge. Staff were very welcoming and I would highly recommend it.

Best around for this time of year

A lot of rainfall with the storm but the course remained fairly dry.

Greens were excellent given the conditions & time of year.

The 2 bunkers I found myself in align with a couple my playing partner hit seemed very heavy with too much sand in them.

But that would be my only critique.

Will be back & would recommend.
