About
Marshall Canyon Golf Course is nestled within the scenic foothills that overlook La Verne. The course is seemingly short at 6,110 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The hilly terrain provides more than enough uneven lies and blind shots. The fast greens are also some of the toughest in the area but they are nicely balanced by wide, player-friendly fairways. The hard-to-read greens have subtle but tricky breaks that get easier once you've played the golf course before but even then, they still present some challenges. Marshall Canyon is a local favorite not only for the challenging round but also because it's a good value with great scenery. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and will often catch a glimpse of the many deer that roam the course.

Rainy morning golf at MC
Played at 730 on this rainy Saturday morning.
Check in was great, got out on time.
The course was pretty soggy which is typical for MC this time of the year. Lots of deer roaming the fairways as usual. The fairways are really bumpy with a lot of thin grass. Rough is not bad and playable. Sand traps were wet and firm and could use a bit more sand. The greens were soggy and holding every decent shot. They were bumpy and didn't hold their line very well. Speed of the greens were unpredictable due to the wetness. One thing stuck out. There is a lot of debris laying around throughout the course that with a little routine maintenance could be easily removed. All in all, it was a fun round on a typical MC day. POP was just under 4 hours.

Great Views and pace of play
This was my second time playing at Marshal Canyon. We walked the course and took in the great layout, views of the mountains AND THE DEER! The holes were a bit of a challenge with sloped greens. Had a great time!

Fun round but long
Started on time, got paired up with some fun guys but didn't have to share carts. Great lay out of the fairways, some ravines to hit over, some nice and wide, crazy slope on the greens which made it challenging for putts but was fun. Finished in about 5 hours, great company, friendly, welcoming staff. Sounds like the course is getting more popular as tee times are harder to find. Great time, would return.

Fun, a little crowded
I felt we had to wait longer than normal to start each hole because the party in front of us was fairly slow. However, it looked like they were right on someone else's heels the whole time too.

Marshall Canyon
For the price and getting out on the course was great. Greens were really fast, not used to the break of the greens. Very cool to have about 20 deer out having lunch on the course.

Poor service
If you have a 6AM tee time, know you will not be allowed to redeem your bucket of balls for the range after your game. The range balls are only redeemable before your tee time.... kind of hard to do that if the course doesn’t open till 6 and there is no sun light. Kid at the pro shop was rude and kind of a little jerk. Won’t be coming back here. Course was ok, had some long holes, and greens were pretty tough to read- especially golfing there for the first time.

My first eagle - hole #15
Drive off tee was pretty decent. Had 147yds to hole. My iron shot felt very good and headed straight toward flag, but lost it when it was about to land. My partner(Sam) also had got on green with 2nd shot. I thought I had it past the green and over the hill, but didn't see my ball. I walked back toward the hole to find my ball marked with red circle - Titlelist 78. Such eventful day.

Dog Track
We decided to go here because it was one of very few courses that were available, but also never coming here again. The pace of play was okay for a weekend, but the greens were super slow and bumpy and the fairways need some tending to. I unfortunately would not recommend this course to anyone.
