The Strathmore Golf Centre's Rannaleroch Course, designed by John Salvesen and opened in 1996, has already been described as a classic. The generous greens are great targets, but their undulations make for an unexpected challenge.

The four par 3s each present an individual challenge, ranging from 122 to 224 yards, while the fifth, a challenging par-5 hole, requires a 160-yard carry over water from the white tees. The-par-72 course measures 6,454 yards.

Strathmore has something for everyone, including the 18-hole Rannaleroch Course and the nine-hole Leitfie Links, a 10-bay covered golf range and a golf academy.

Nice course

Course that drains well so conditions generally very good. A good test of golf with some long par 4’s (well long for me) and tricky par 3’s. Greens generally in very good condition. Nice clubhouse with friendly staff and varied food choices. We had their steak pie which are made to order. Delicious. All in all a lovely track and well worth a visit

Great course shame about the course conditions

It is a lovely course and I’ve played there before. Unfortunately this time the greens had just been cored and there was a thick layer of sand covering the greens and some temporary greens in the fairways. And also played off mats on the par 3’s.

Still had an enjoyable round with my son.

Thank you.

Just great!

The most impressive thing about this course is the drainage, which means that they can maintain the course off season without turning it into a quagmire, unlike my home course, Murryshall, which is akin to a swamp for 5 months of the year! I didn't have a spot of mud on my clothes after a round here in mid December, while at Murryshall, in the same valley only 15 miles away, just two days later, and after no more significant rain, I get balls that turn into completely camouflaged mud bombs that are almost impossible to find, disgusting sludge up to my knees and sodden soiled feet - even with waterproof shoes on! Unlike my course, at Strathmore, the fairways are firm, short and fast, the greens are cut short, smooth, dry and fast, with very little of them on winter greens, and the leaves and long rough are excellently maintained. Many members have jumped ship to Strathmore, and I'm seriously thinking about joining them, because despite what the deluded sticklers of Murryshall might think, Strathmore is a far superior golfing experience all year 'round. The views might not be quite as good, but the general all year around course conditions just stand out head and shoulders above the competition locally, and if the club house was just refreshed, as I'm sure the new, luck owner who buys it will do, it could be an amazing place for the mid range value golfing experience! We had the Sunday carvery, too, and it was fantastic quality and value for money, we could not fault it, at all, and as always, the staff were amazing! If I had a spare 1.4 million quid for the asking price, I'd snap-it-up in a second! Some lucky new owner aught to get in there before someone else does!

Strathmore - Terrific!

Greens were being top dressed as we played but still putted well. Tees and Fairways were as immaculate as ever, incredible really given the volume of rain that has fallen recently!

The Course is a pleasure to play and a credit to everyone involved in its upkeep.

A fantastic day out!

In the mid 1990's, and whilst in my much fitter 20's, I actually roofed and roughcasted the clubhouse at Strathmore. The course was just being constructed alongside it, and it was an impressive feat to witness. Until then I had never known just how much goes into a modern golf courses' design, architecture and construction, it's quite an undertaking, and many golfers at that time were sceptical about how successful the club could be given how much it was costing to build, and all of the other surrounding competition. I knew a lot of local golfers back then who were pessimistic, my father being one of them, and I had played golf alongside them as a junior just along the road at Blairgowrie, but gave up when I turned 16 as beer and girls became much more interesting.... A 33 year hietus later and I returned to golf in January 2023, and I'm now a member at Murrayshall about 15 miles away from Strathmore. Disheartened by how difficult the management have made play there, the constant water-logging, regularly losing balls in the ridiculously long so-called short rough, the postage stamp greens, the absence of a fringe and perpetually having mud up to my shins, I'm seeking-out another place to play next season. I had heard many good things about Strathmore, and I always thought it would be great to try it out since I witnessed it being constructed - I was not disappointed! It is a serious contender for next season! What a fantastic and extremely forgiving golf course this is! Despite one of the actual roads to it being completely closed due to flooding the day I played, the course was almost completely dry. Their drainage is seriously impressive, and the course is in great condition despite the dreadful weather we've had here in September. The staff were incredibly friendly and pleasant to deal with, we had lunch, an old-school pub style meal, and played 18 holes, and I will be back for certain! As some honest feedback, I would just state the obvious and say that the clubhouse could do with some fresh, modern decor, it has been well used, but I'm sure they know that, and the disruption and cost will no doubt be the reason for it not being done. But with a bit of sprucing-up, this club could be a real jem! But, if you're just there for the golf, there are few courses in Perthshire that are any better, and I'm confident that you will not be disappointed either! I salute your success, and I'm really glad to see that the naysayers lost!

A lovely course in fantastic condition

The course was the best condition of any i've played in the last few weeks, a credit to the greenkeepers who were always busy on the course the two times i played that week.

Some lovely features, amenities were good, and all were friendly, for the price this was the best value for money course i've played, difficulty wise, the course is open and plays easy, but the greens can make it tricky with a lot of undulations and green side danger, and flag position can increase this risk. Overall it played really well, and in a week where there was rain, it played better than any of the courses i'd tried.
