I played mid-week and the course was very quiet. I caught up with 3 members who were very friendly and allowed me to play through. The course is away from the road so is a really peaceful spot. Some of the par 3’s off the yellows are quite a test but all a bit different. I particularly enjoyed the 15th hole - a signature hole that requires a pretty straight shot - you will see for yourself how tricky it is. Plenty of activity around the course with green keepers working away and the tees, greens and fairways were of an excellent standard. A good day of golf was had - would be happy to play again.

Fabulous wee course

Played this course for the first time and I’ll definitely come back. Stunning weather, which helps on any course, beautiful scenery and a great wee course. The only slight disappointment was the condition of the greens where quite a few were very patchy/bare due to the surrounding trees taking all the moisture. A nice shortish course with fabulous intriguing holes, those thinking it’s easy, it’s not. The only hole I would say was boring was the 14th, very uninteresting and bland with no characteristics unless you go way right or left.

The 15th was absolutely fabulous, really intriguing, a short par 3 through a very narrow gap with a bunker right in front of the green too, stunning hole.

Scenic gem

I played this course for the second time. The friendliness of the starter was a great introduction to the days play.

The course itself has some testing approaches to the greens. The general preparation of the course was of a high standard. It certainly provides value for money. The engaging members and staff made the trip worthwhile.

The surrounding scenery complimented a rather enjoyable day. I will return to play again this season.

Highly recommended.

Callander GC

Having played course over last 30 years or so, it’s one of my favourites, great layout with stunning views. Course today was in good condition, like a lot of courses growth has been slow this season. Greens ran true and tested your putting. Pity the clubhouse has been should , there’s a portacabin in place where you check in & can buy juices , coffee etc & toilet facilities available.

If you’ve not played here yet it’s defo worth a visit.

Callander Golf Course

This is a beautiful scenic course. Although there are 8 par threes it still offers enough challenge. The greens were relatively good although could do with a little work.

Pretty course but short

Very pleasant and helpful reception on arrival. A pretty, pleasant course to play although the greens were not the best but ok. Members playing waited at tee to let me play through which was appreciated and meant no further hold ups for rest of round which only took 2.45 hours. No club facilities except a portacabin reception. Holes generally short with only one par 5. Most par 4s 200 something yards so mostly playing wedge second shots not much mid long iron or 3 wood/hybrid. Strangely also a couple of very long par 3s. Enjoyed the walk but probably wouldn’t play again as too many short par 4’s.

Great views.

Lovely setting. Some long par 3s and short par 4s. Visitors restricted to yellow tees which made course really short. Greens were heavily sanded and with the lack of growth due to early frost in April. No facilities at all as they are about to build s new facility. Great for a leisurely game.

Callander Golf Club

Played today as a four ball. Course was devoid of any signs of life as we’d heard the clubhouse and grounds were now private property so very little governance in place.

Course conditions were great with only 1 winter green on, despite expecting a cold morning and some hard ground. A tough wee test for the average golfer, some holes saying Par 3 yet my Garmin saying Par 4. Hole 7 was a doozy, no idea where you were going with a blind par 3 made it interesting for me.

Great value for money but would recommend getting out early morning, busy and we were held up for 7/8 holes by a 2 ball in front of us. Not ideal but we still managed a sub 80, 2 sub 90s and a complete 18 in just over 3 hours.

Would recommend to visitors looking for a nice course layout and a challenge with your wedge game.

Course layout was good with paths easily set out from greens to tees. Greens were in very poor condition. No toilet facilities open. First time playing and will probably be my last.
