The gorgeous 15th. Perhaps not so, when there are leaves on those trees! Photo submitted by Franny1965 on 04/09/2025

Golfer Reviews
Wrong time to play , too much rain on run up to game at course and waterlogged . Winter greens now in play and not enjoyable at all .
Terrible course under water winter tees and greens no one in shop
Never be back
Well wort it
First if all, I can't comment on the off course facilities as they were closed due to being a small club and current restrictions. DO NOT LET PUT YOU OFF! We arrived early and had the pleasure of chatting to members, all very friendly and happy to help. Can imagine this is a proper friendly golf club.
The course, enjoyed it immensely. Do not let the length put you off. Protects it's par incredibly well. On an October day, you can imagine the colours of the course. Beautiful. Genuinely can't think of a bad hole. Be tidy off the tee so you have a good 2nd shot. And you require a good 2nd shot to hit the greens. Very well guarded greens. The greens had been hollowtined, perfectly acceptable for this time of year. And a good job had been done on them. Maybe be mindful that the toilets are closed, plenty around the main part of the beautiful wee town of Callander.
The par3 16th is a true a test of golf as you will face. A definite card destroyer if played incorrectly. I can cinfirm that.
All in all, a really good value, well presented golf course. Most definitely will be back. Lived every minute of it.
Lovely wee course. Pleasure to play, at £8 it was a steal.
Picturesque
Lovely course with some nice par 3’s. A bit muddy on some parts of the course due to recent heavy rainfall. Greens were sanded and spiked. Some of the views were spectacular.
Great wee course
Lovely wee course, well laid out and maintained. Due to the amount of rain recently course was holding up well. Only issue was with greens having recently being cored, apart from that had a great day. Definitely be back
Course closing
Clubhouse and pro shop closed, no one around to assist, used to be a great wee course, now it's basically been abandoned. Such a shame, course going out of business I was told
Studed and sanded greens
Was charged full price to okay on what can only be described as a beach...!
If l want to play on a beach I will, don’t sand and stud the greens without letting people know..!
Really annoyed we travelled for this
Terrible greens
Half expected to see a camel on the greens there was that much sand on them, totally unplayable and really shouldn't be on in that condition, also no staff on site to deal with any complaint about them. Overall would be a nice wee course if it wasn't for the greens but definitely wouldn't waste money to play it again.
Would have been 5 stars BUT...
I really like this course, but this was the first time thta there has been no staff at all, and the greens had been hollow tined and very heavily sanded - so putting was not possible. It would nice to have been told this before booking. Especially since we have played earlier in perfect conditions and at slighly cheaper rate. Great wee course normally.
What a great day
Superb conditions and friendly welcoming staff - the course is going through changes with a new clubhouse planned and the old one being sold privately. Really great experience on a shorter (par 66) But challenging Course in a beautiful part of the world. Well worth a visit from Glasgow and we shall be back. Cannot recommend it highly enough especially the 15th - a short hole through a 10 metre gap in the trees!,
Friendly Staff & Members - Nice Short Game Course
Staff were very friendly on arrival, other members we passed by on our round too. Nice welcoming feel by everyone.
The course was in very good condition when we played. The ground is a bit damp and mossy, but that's due to the location - all around Callander you can't escape this it's just a very damp misty sort of area. So don't think the green-keepers could have had this course in much better condition considering.
It's a course that definitely makes you work on your short game. Not a single Par 5 from the yellow tee on your whole round and lots of tricky small angle tee shots to keep you on your toes.
First time playing here
Nice scenic course in a beautiful part of the country. Interesting holes throughout. Fairways in excellent condition but some of the greens need attention.
First time playing here, the condition of the course was immaculate.very good layout with a few challenging holes.the scenery as you went round the course was stunning. Unfortunately due to covid there was no clubhouse facilities, but this would not stop me from returning. I would highly recommend
