Dumfries and County Golf Club

About
The Dumfries and County Golf Club is a privately owned parkland golf course situated on the outskirts of Dumfries. Bordered on one side by the Nith River, it offers spectacular views of the Nith Valley and surrounding countryside.
The USGA-standard greens are among the best in the area. Built on 89 acres, this golf course demands a high degree of course management to achieve a par of 69.
The fifth hole - Spion Kop - is named after the famous battle of the Boer War. The 374-yard par-4 starts from an elevated tee, with a second shot to an elevated green. The right-hand side is bordered by the Nith.
No. 15 is a 371-yard par-4 with a dogleg to the right. The second shot to a lower level green is protected by a massive tree named after legendary golfer and course designer James Braid.

Course
Course in really good condition. Four holes had winter greens. Other than that could not fault anything. Will definitely be returning for another round. The food in the club house could not be faulted either really good value. Overall a really enjoyable experience.
5 star course
Blown away by just how great the condition of this course was given how much rain we’ve had lately, not the longest course in the world but would highly recommend it if your in the area, fantastic value, shame it’s not closer
Lovely Old Job
Nestled behind a residential area lies a this lovely golf course. Despite its modest length, we thoroughly enjoyed our time on its immaculate fairways and fast, accurate greens. The weather followed the typical patterns of September, with occasional heavy showers, yet it failed to diminish our delight. We didn't linger for post-game activities, but the clubhouse interior appeared inviting, the club shop was impressively well-supplied, and the staff were exceptionally friendly.
We will be revisiting in early summer next year to truly experience the course's challenges. This place earns a solid five-star rating.
Bj golf society
Played with my son as we were on holiday near by
Checked the reviews before booking
Review was spot on the course was lovely
Greens were amazing very fast & tricky to read
Will definitely be playing again with my society
Thank you
Don’t be fooled by the yardage!
Great course, very tricky in areas and blind shots meaning you’ve got pick your line. The yardage makes the course look like it will be easy but tight fairways, punishing rough, a lot of shots uphill to the green mean this plays a lot longer than it should. Greens were in great condition.
Dumfries & County Golf Club
Beautiful course in excellent condition with some stunning views. Slow pace of play due to groups ahead playing in a competitive Texas Scramble but the weather was good so more time to enjoy the scenery.
The Club house was lovely with efficient staff and friendly members. Food was tasty and the beer refreshing.
It’s quite a challenging course to walk so I’d recommend a buggy which are reasonably priced.
Looking forward to returning to play here again.

Course condition
Greens absolutely superb, will definitely be back, some steep hills on the front nine but overall a good test of golf for all abilities and a pleasure to play
Incredible Course
Amazing day out, quality and well maintained track. For what felt like a months worth of rain before we teed off, the course was in fantastic condition. Greens very firm and fair. And generally good condition throughout. Will be returning again on the next trip to Scotland
Outstanding parkland course
Really enjoyed the course, a fine parkland course with nice views and some really nice holes.
My favorite being the 2nd and the 6th. the greens were outstanding I found them extremely tricky and fast!
Very good place to play, would recommend it to friends and family.
A very good course, lots of changes and challenging sections all throughout the course.
