The Pines Golf Club
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2014. The land was repurposed for creating a housing area.
Water can be a big part of a round at The Pines Golf Centre, coming into play on seven of the holes. There is plenty of variety with the golf course being a mixture of parkland and heathland.
The greens are a particular feature of the course. All have subtle undulations and an exceptional putting surface.
The second hole, a sharp dogleg around trees with a green set in a wooded dell, and the third, again a sharp dogleg with a pond in front of the green, provide a difficult start.
The Pines feature hole is a 146-yard par-3 with water on three sides of the green. It is followed by the toughest hole on the course, the 17th, a 410-yard par-4 with a tight second shot to a green set into a background of heather, birch and pines.
The facilities include a fully floodlit 18-bay driving range.
