Rating 71.5

Well maintained greens and the burn running through it makes for a feature at several holes. Really hilly, particulary back 9 so be prepared for a hike. Gets you right out in the country and away from everything. Memorable Hole - 9th. Dog leg right to a steep sloping green, with burn running along front of it. Drive to the dog leg to leave an accurate pitch into green. If you hit front of green its more than likely a watery grave for you.

Make or Break - 5th. A monster 500+yds par 5. Tee from an elevated green then you need a good fairway wood to leave you chance of hitting green in 3. Out of bounds burn runs all way up right hand side of hole and round back of green. 3rd shot to green, tucked in a corner, is usually blind. A par here is excellent.

Don’t waste your money

The layout of the first 9’is great with a good mix of holes however the same can’t be said about the back 9, pretty much apart from 2 holes on this 9 is up and down hill side by side and very repetitive.

The general condition of the course is severely lacking attention to detail and pride taken in it, cut grass on the fairways and the rough and very hairy slow greens. The tee boxes had been cut that day and the green keepers hadn’t bothered to replace many of the tee poles and markers.

The course was wet albeit 4/5 days after heavy rain but should be drying out quicker.

In summary don’t waste your money loads of better courses in the area for the same price or cheaper.

Played better council courses

Awful conditions for a private owned course in the middle of the golfing season. The greens are bare in places and in other parts reminiscent of putting on a fairway. Tee boxes are uneven and all chopped up. There isn't a second cut to the fairway so if you dont hit the fairway expect to lose your ball in what is meant to be light rough. We were robbed 20 quid to play this and that was discounted from 30 quid. All 6 of us were unanimous at the end of the round that hands down it was the worst course anyone has played on. Feel bad writing such a bad review but no course should be in such an terrible condition during the golfing season, especially at the prices being charged!

Ardeer

Have played this course about 10 times in the last 2 years and have always found it an excellent course with very friendly staff, unfortunately today’s experience was not as pleasurable due to the fact that all 18 holes were on winter greens.

Would not have played it today if this information was on the tee off times website .

Hasn’t put me off playing it again as it’s a great course with a challenging layout .
