Well kept course
Played for the first time in years
From the minute we met the guy in the shop we were made welcome
Everyone on the course was friendly
The course itself is in really good condition and is a nice wee test
Some lovely holes and the green are in immaculate condtion
Overall a great golfing experience
Great Wee Course
Some challenging holes eg 1st. Otherwise lovely course which at this time like most courses in Scotland is suffering from the extreme rainfalls of last 6 months
Compact and well maintained course
The course had set up winter tees but still used the actual greens so this had little impact on our enjoyment of the game. We were asked to use a mat on the fairways. There were some holes where the green direction was not obvious so markers on the fairways would help visitors.
Unfortunately, on the day, we were caught behind a very slow fourball who did not let any following groups through. Does the club promote “ready golf”.
In summary, we had an enjoyable game of golf on a good course with fine facilities and very friendly, helpful staff.
Great course
Great shorter course fun to play. Layout is a little confusing on certain holes so be careful. Example, the 8th hole crosses in front of 9th tee box, we had no clue and walked in front of a group teeing off looking for a ball. Same happened on 17th green, the 18th tee box is right there. Would definitely come back as staff was very nice and so were other golfers, great experience.
Great course
First time playing, loved playing a short course that’s protects the greens with pot bunkers. Would love to play again but from the US. Staff was super and really made us feel welcome.
Great Value for Money on a Fun Course
Love playing this course. Set on beautiful grounds near the Edinburgh City Centre, the course is well maintained and challenging without being too tough. I'm not a long hitter so this course plays well for me. Greens well-maintained, balls gone stray are not difficult to find and the layout makes great use of available space. Really recommend this course!
Lovely Course
Overall I thought Liberton Golf Club would be well worth a visit if you can grab a cheap tee time. The Pro Shop acts as the starters hut and is located next to the members carpark, its about a 200 yard walk from the visitors carpark back past the large stone clubhouse. Very friendly man in the shop who explained the course layout to me and how to find my way between greens and tees that weren't necessarily self explanatory. I was most impressed by the condition of the greens, bunkers and tee boxes. If I could improve the course I would implement aiming posts on quite a few of the holes as there is alot of tee shots where you cannot see the green and therefore don't know the ideal line off the tee. I think ideally you'd play with a member so they can point you in the right direction.
Friendly well presented course
Played the course for the first time in May. The pro was really helpful in the shop giving us a good description of the course lay out. The greens were in really good condition, and the layout of the course was great with some interesting memorable holes. Look forward to coming back and playing it again.
Easy but value for money
A great wee course located in the suburbs of Edinburgh. Very tight and compact so quite forgiving if you don't hit the fairway. Some easy par 4's which are driveable. Nice course, not the toughest but very good value for money.
Liberton GC
Played Liberton GC 14/5/23 and it was in good condition for the time of year. Very friendly and helpful Pro who was very welcoming as always. The game was played in good spirit on a well laid out course which I can highly recommend. Catering is also available until 8.00pm and we enjoyed a hearty meal at the end of our game. The bar and catering staff were very friendly and professional and I can also highly recommend their catering and bar services. Looking forward to returning again soon... Robert Cooper MBE
Great course though members can be rude
Played a 4 ball with a couple of guys who hadn't played in a while so we were slower going round. We let a 2 ball play through us on the 3rd as they had already caught up. The next group, a 4 ball, caught up quite soon after but we continued on. On the 8th they rudely told us to hurry up and that we were backing up the course. The gentleman who told us was overly aggressive which was completely unnecessary. Apart from this inconvenience, the course itself was top notch and can't fault it.
