The course is fairly good except the handling of staffs.
Course was good condition. However, there was no notice of aerification, stater calls name to tee off without giving numbers. It was confused and messed up. Too much wating on the course.
Avoid the weekends
Staff was super nice, let us know right away that they were running 25+ minutes late. Free range balls were a nice touch, range is grass was in good shape, balls were pretty new and not sprayed all over the adjacent holes, they do a good job with that. There is a marshal was on the course so we thought it would pick up but it slowed down. 20 min average tee box wait, good prices on beer and burgers right off the grill. Buns not fresh and onions a little old but burger was good, pickles, lettuce and tomato... all well presented and tasty. Parking is tough as the Sunday brunch draws a BIG crowd. Course is fun to play, pretty well maintained, carts were in good shape (why do they allow walkers and 5-somes on weekends?). I would play it again but for $65 I'd play it only on the weekday or make the drive to OC or IE and still have finished faster than 6 hours.
If you have never played here watch out for the first few holes, there is sneaky water all over the place and some well placed bunkers to frustrate an intermediate player like myself. It was a fun course, just subject to over booking or slow players or _______.
nice golf course as expected
my wife and I enjoyed play at El Dorado golf course for many years, and we are still love to play there.
good value for a public course, slow play still a problem
guys and pro shop and first tee greeter were all very friendly. we were told 15 minutes behind when we checked in 30 minutes early, turned out to be 30 minutes behind. free range balls was just enough to make up for the convenience, but I didn't see a marshall out speeding up play, nobody waving up on the par threes, and we even got held up on 17 trying to finish after 5pm
Bad course conditions
I feel that playing the ball down in HORRIBLE course conditions.
most fairways are dry, a lot of times you may find yourself hitting out of dirt when you are in the middle of the fairway. Usually lies within chipping distance of the green are stuck in holes between clumps of grass.
Money money money
This courses' management team has one thing in mind...$$$$. We booked for 12:28 Saturday to allow for slow play (5 hours) and be finished before dark. When checking in at 11:30 we were told they were on time. At 12:28 when our name was still not in the 4 next groups on the tee we asked what's going on and now they were running 45 minutes late. Thanks guys.
No course Marshall, groups of 5 and hackers waiting for the group ahead to get 300 yards away before they chip slice their drive 75 yards. Won't be back until they think more about the golfer and less about the $$$.
Crowded and not in best shape
I generally like playing this course but it was very crowded and no on course marshals that I could see. We actually had to skip a hole to pass a fivesome that could care less that they were playing twilight and/or had people behind them. They were at least 1 1/2 holes behind.
Not Worth it for Non Residents
Too Much $$$ for what the course has to offer, Very busy not worth the $$$ for Non residents.
Course is always running 30 minutes behind
Horrible
Will never return
Play HS golf here....was decent/good.
Just unbelievably bad
Older course with big trees and nice layout.
This is an older course with the large trees to prove it which adds to the challenge. The layout is varied so each hole has its own features. The course does get a lot of play and it does show though the greens are still fun. Course drainage seems to be a challenge so the fairways can get a little beat and hard to bring back...sounds like lots of public courses. Still a fun play and one of my favorites.
Good course for shot making
Overall not bad for the price. Greens are in good condition and quick. I would play here again for the price. Staff was great.
