The faint of heart might want to steer clear of the nine-hole Wee Demon golf course at the Cameron House Hotel, which is the senior golf course on the estate and comes with a clever design to provide big challenges. From the par-5 first hole through two with large water hazards, right up to the end, the golf course delivers.

Golf the Wee Demon golf course at the Cameron House Hotel in the winter for deeply discounted rates.

After a round of golf on the Wee Demon golf course at the Cameron House Hotel, head back to the Claret Jug, which overlooks the golf course's sibling golf course, the Carrick, on the nature zone of Loch Lomond.

Course condition

The condition of the course is extremely poor , overgrown tee off boxes , greens that need a lot of repairs and fairways that need to be better maintained

For a course on 5 star hotel just really poor condition

Perfect 9 Holer

Only issue in my opinion, is an unofficial reception that ties in with the marina, and the staff seem (on the day) to want us dealt with and gone.. as if we were lesser priority.

Holes 7-9 isn’t sign posted well enough and the pathways are confusing.

Other than that, lovely course considering the heavy downfall in the morning, and greens were fantastic.

Interesting wee course

Obviously not the best time of year to play the Wee Demon as the greens had been heavily cored, mats were used on every tee and most tees were miles forward. Some of the bunkers need a lot of work to remove grass growing in them and stones. Glad to have only paid £5 to play as wouldn’t have been too pleased to pay the full rate of £20.

All that being said, it was an interesting wee course with some decent holes. I am sure the course will be lovely in the summer.

Nice wee golf course

The Wee Demon is a little short 9 hole holiday course meandering between the lodges at Cameron House and adjacent to the Marina. I was amazed that the outdoor staff members didn't seem to know where it actually was (IT IS NOT AT THE CARRICK!!)

Although it was a lovely day for November the course was not surprisingly wet under foot and muddy in places. The greens had recently been cored but were surprisingly slick. Tee mats were in play at each hole. It is only around 2600 yards long and I only used my driver once.

I enjoyed the walk in pleasant setting - a good wee fun course if you are staying locally in the area and only have an hour or so to play (I managed the 9 holes in around 70 minutes playing on my own)

Nice course poor condition

Arrived at course after paying £25 for 9 holes to be told all the greens had been irrigated and were pretty much unplayable, it was a shame because it was a nice little course but our day was ruined as we couldn't putt on the greens.

Tricky Course

Tricky course but an interesting 9 holes. Like other reviews it really needs signage especially from 1st green to 2nd tee box. And some signage on the road into the hotel.

Note- Don’t follow Sat Nav to the wee demon course or you’ll be stuck at a barrier needing a code. Just head to the hotel, no barrier, then go to the car park across from marina. Book in at the marina office. Also, just follow the course map and you’ll be fine.

Good wee course though.

Bothwell Bill

Very good layout but would benefit greatly from the introduction of tee finding signage since it is often played by visitors and tourists.

It also requires fairway distance markers(100/150/200 yards)

I am a member of 2 golf clubs and past Captain at one and as such I really appreciate the need for courses to maximise their full potential.

Really poor

Felt like an afterthought of a course. Completely surrounded by lodges and people walking dogs! Signposting terrible. Ground very soggy...overall a big no.
