The Lochgreen Course at Troon Links is widely regarded as the best of the municipal golf courses in Troon, though all offer a great round of golf at prices hard to beat in Scotland.

Troon Links Lochgreen Course is facility's largest, a par-74 that parallels in parts Royal Troon Golf Club and has served as a qualifier for the Open. Jack Nicklaus, for one example, once shot an 82 on the golf course and needed to follow it up with a 68 to make the cut by one shot.

The course has some interesting holes

After such a dry spell and playing on one of the hottest days of the year we found the course scorched but the ball ran generously. The greens were in very good condition. We needed a drink afterwards but found the cafe and club house closed at 4.30. Very disappointed. Enjoyed our game and would recommend playing it.

A great municipal course!

Troon Lochgreen is a lovely part links/part parkland course on the Ayrshire coast in Scotland. When we played it the course was fast and dry with the recent dry summer. Greens were lovely, if a bit slow. It appeared that they were keeping the grass on the greens a little bit longer in case they got burnt. Well worth the money and a good deal on Golf Now!

Lovely Links Course

Lovely sunny day in Troon - visiting family and friends for the first time in ages - spent a lovely afternoon playing on Loch Green one of the three courses of Troon Links all different . Loch Green is long but fair .

Staff in pro shop very helpful and we hired electric trolleys which had GPS and electronic score cards which were explained to us .

Hope we will be back next time we are in Scotland
